Dear parents and carers,
This half term was 'Y6 SATs' half term and WOW did they do us proud! Every single child took the week in their stride and supported one another through the nerves, the revision sessions and the tiredness. It doesn't matter what their final scores, what matters is how they showed their true FARMERS FOREVER spirit and gave it their very best. We were excited to hear the news of Mrs Bostock's new arrival Henry at the start of this term and we have also loved having Miss Elliott here to cover Mrs Bostock's maternity leave. We are pleased to say that Miss Elliott will be staying with us for the Autumn term too and Mrs Macauley has now taken on a permanent contract for next year - we are so pleased they want to be FARMERS FOREVER!
Before I wish you all a happy half term, I would just like to make a little FOREST SCHOOL plea to help us replenish our stocks for next term. Please contact the office before dropping off anything you would like to donate. Anything you think would support our outdoor play and exploration would be welcomed but in particular...
- If you are buying any new garden furniture or camping equipment, we would love your old deckchairs, camping chairs, parasols, windbreaks or whatever else you have that you no longer need.
- We would also LOVE some more tyres as they are very popular, especially those bigger than a car tyre!
- Finally, if you happen to have a new fence fitted, we could happily make use of any good quality old panels to create more teepee shelters.
Have a wonderful week with the exceptionally un-seasonally sunny weather we are going to be blessed with! Take time to recharge if you can before the crazy busy final 7 weeks and thank you in advance for all your support with the trips, events and everything else in between. We know how hectic this last half term is - we feel it too - but it is all worth it for the FABULOUS FARMERS FOREVER moments that come from it all. We try our very best, as always, to give you as much information as possible with as much advance notice as possible but this is not always possible when we are relying on external providers to get back to us. If it all gets a bit too confusing, just give the ladies in the office a call and they will be only too happy to help.
Many thanks Mrs Webb :)
Farmers Forever Moments
It is our aim to fill the children's time at school with as many memorable moments and experiences that will stick with them as possible, so that they leave us after 4 years with hearts and minds full of learning and joy - that's where our motto LEARNERS FOR LIFE, FARMERS FOREVER comes from! Here are a few of the Farmers Forever moments the children have experienced in the past few weeks...
There are many more FARMERS FOREVER moments to come next term, in the final few weeks of this academic year with trips, sports events, the school fair and much, much more!
Stir Pizza Workshop for Year 5
Year 5 took part in a hands-on pizza-making workshop with our catering provider Stir a couple of weeks ago and made lots of yummy pizza! The session gave children the chance to get involved - rolling dough, choosing toppings, and learning about where their food comes from, all under the guidance of a working professional chef.
During the workshop, children learned how to prepare pizza dough from scratch, explored different ingredients and their origins, and discovered the importance of making food choices from a young age.
Year 5 head to Gulliver's Land
As I'm writing these last bits of the newsletter this afternoon, our year 5 pupils are enjoying a sunny day in the theme park or a great afternoon down in the shade of forest school. The children that at Gulliver's have been excellent representatives of our school and many of them have new achievements or exciting adventures to bring home to their families later on today. I haven't got any of the theme park photos through yet but I will upload them to the blog as soon as I can! A huge thank you to all of the staff that have helped make this trip possible for these children too - a well-deserved half term is on its way!
