Occupational Therapy Support Worker

You can switch to a Placement Year at any point, including once you have secured your placement. If you’re considering completing a year-long placement, there are a few different routes you can take: Your options:

  • Option 1: Apply for an advertised placement
  • Option 2: Find relevant employment
  • Option 3: Combine paid work with volunteering

If you’re interested in options 2 or 3, I’d strongly recommend starting to build relevant experience now.

Some opportunities are shared informally before they are widely advertised. 3️⃣ Prepare before the job drops Update your CV. Start drafting a supporting statement template. Reflect on your experience and write down clear examples of your skills. Because in psychology, it is not just about waiting for the right time. It is about being prepared when the opportunity appears.

Summer Placements - London

Likewise is a learning organisation, so we’re keen to share what we discover. We feel strongly about creating change in the world for better collective wellbeing – becoming more accepting, more human, more there for each other. One of the ways we do this is by inviting students to take on a summer voluntary placement with us, gaining experience on the frontline with a very real, diverse, human community. This placement is for you if you want to build your understanding of a human-centred approach to working with people, take a dual approach of learning and leading, and challenge yourself to get right out of your comfort zone.
