A Buzz-Worthy Surprise at OV
Students in the elementary wing recently experienced an unexpected learning opportunity when a swarm of honey bees temporarily settled near Mrs. Marston's classroom. Thanks to OV parent and beekeeper Mr. Beeman, the swarm was safely collected and relocated. Students had a front-row seat to the process, watching through the classroom window as the bees were carefully gathered and moved to a new location.
The experience provided a unique glimpse into the important role honey bees play in our environment and the work involved in safely managing and relocating a swarm. We are happy to report that all of the bees were safely relocated and no one was injured. Otselic Valley extends its appreciation to Mr. Beeman for his assistance and for turning an unexpected situation into a memorable educational experience for our students.
