Dear Parents and Carers,
It may have been a shorter week following the bank holiday, but it has certainly been a busy and exciting one in school. Our pupils have thrown themselves into a fantastic range of activities, showcasing their enthusiasm and determination throughout. Dosbarth Brenig had a brilliant start to the week, proudly receiving their medals after completing their Bikeability session on Tuesday, followed by great success at the Panathlon Curling event on Wednesday. Pupils from Dosbarth Alwen and Dosbarth Tegid represented the school wonderfully at a Multi Sports Panathlon Event, while pupils from Grange Road and Dosbarth Aled enjoyed taking part in a Cricket Festival at Eirias Park. Thank you to all pupils and staff for their hard work and energy this week. Wishing everyone a lovely, restful weekend.
Kind regards,
Susan H. Roberts

Attendance Information for Parents and Carers
As part of our continued focus on attendance this year, we have decided to share attendance data regularly with parents and carers through our newsletter. Attendance remains one of our school priorities, and we believe that sharing this information helps keep everyone informed and working together to support our pupils. In Wales, the Welsh Government defines good attendance as 95% or above. Attendance of 90% or below is classed as persistent absence. These benchmarks are used nationally across schools in Wales. We would like to reassure families that we fully recognise that many pupils at YTM have significant health or medical needs which may make it difficult, or sometimes impossible, to meet these targets. As a school, we understand this and want to be very clear that no parent or carer should feel pressured or judged where absences are due to genuine health-related reasons. Our intention in sharing attendance data is simply to ensure transparency and awareness of our overall school attendance and the expectations placed upon us as a school. We value our strong partnership with families and appreciate your continued support in helping pupils attend whenever they are able to do so. If you would like to discuss attendance in relation to your child, please do not hesitate to contact the school - we are always happy to work together to provide the best possible support.
