Student awards from the Ooks Hockey Alumni Association (OHAA) continue to support and inspire student-athlete success on and off the ice. In the 2024–2025 year, 23 men’s hockey players received Ooks Hockey Alumni scholarships based on their athletic and academic standing. Meet them all and read some messages of thanks.

Bachelor of Business Administration
Hockey has always been a huge part of my life, and it played a major role in my decision to attend NAIT. The structure offered the perfect balance of academics and athletics, making it an easy choice for me. Receiving student awards have helped relieve some financial stress, allowing me to focus on my studies and the demands of being a student-athlete without worrying as much about expenses.

When I first found out I was receiving the award, I was a little shocked. The first people I told were my parents because they have supported me my whole life, allowing me to pursue my dreams. I knew they would be as proud as I am. Receiving this award has motivated me even more to push myself towards all life goals.

I just wanted to say a really big thank you to the NAIT Ooks Alumni Association for their generous scholarship. It really helped me out financially while I was going to school and playing hockey. I look forward to being a part of the OHAA once I'm finished hockey.

Receiving this scholarship has really made me appreciate all the hard work I have put into my studies through the years to get to this point. I have dreamed of this moment as a kid growing up for years and to finally see it paying off is really amazing. I would like to thank all parties involved in helping me making theses dreams a reality and could have never done it without you.

Growing up I always enjoyed hockey, and I was lucky enough to succeed at it and play at a high level. An opportunity arose for me to play at NAIT and also pursue a great education.
When I found out that I would be receiving a student award to help me pay for school, I was very excited. It has made it a lot easier for me to focus on doing well in school and contributing positively to my team.
