The future is our youth

• Noah Holden, age 13

The youngest of three boys whose family raises and shows sheep in central Pennsylvania. Noah started working at Northeast Shires in May 2024. He quickly learned how to handle the draft horse helping to train, decorate, and ride. Along with several other youth exhibitors, Noah became a member of ASHA and showed decorating, showmanship, and riding at his very first Shire Show at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition in October 2024.

Shay and Noah are quiet proud of their braiding skills, getting ready for mare cart

Liability Insurance

ASHEF carries liability insurance for the purpose of supporting our volunteers as they educate the public on Shires. While the insurance does not cover horses at an event, it does extend to any volunteer who sets up or attends an event that requires liability (e.g. Horse Progress Days, Equine Affaire, National/Regional Shire Shows, Educational Events, Farmer's Markets, Breed Demonstrations, etc). The covered event should be reapproved by the ASHEF Board. Just contact the Board and with a few specifics of what you are planning on doing, we will get the event added to the agenda and send you supplies for your event.
