Small Schools Athletics Carnival

Our Small Schools Athletics Carnival, held in week 8, was a fantastic success and thoroughly enjoyed by students, parents, and teachers. It was wonderful to see the sun shining as students from Kindergarten to Year 6 thrived in a variety of physical activities and events.

We will share the names of students who have qualified for the Zone Athletics Carnival on 7th August once the results have been provided to our school.

Thank you to all the parents who consistently attend our sports days and cheer on all Mulbring Public School students, encouraging them to do their best!

Hunter Cross Country Carnival -

Congratulations to Jack P and Sam H, who competed at the Regional Cross Country Carnival at Avondale College last Friday. Both boys performed exceptionally well, achieving excellent results against strong competition. Well done!

NSW Small Schools Knockout Soccer Competition

The Mulbring Soccer team took on Iona Public school in our first round of the small school knockout competition. We had been training hard ready for our big game, and we delivered. We ended up winning 13-0, every single player showed great sportsmanship and great skill. Special mention to Alex for showcasing fantastic sportsmanship and leadership when he scored a handball goal, he went up to the ref and said it shouldn’t count.

Our next game is against Jilliby Public school in term 3, we look forward to playing again and having the support from our amazing school community.

PSSA Basketball Gala Day

Mulbring Public School recently competed at the PSSA Basketball Gala Day held at Maitland Basketball Stadium. Our team performed exceptionally well, winning 3 out of the 4 games they played.

All students showcased impressive basketball skills, talent, and sportsmanship. It was especially encouraging to see the team rally together when trailing on the scoreboard, demonstrating great resilience and teamwork to come back and win some nail-biting matches.

We are incredibly proud of every single player’s effort, especially since the majority of the team are Year 4 students or younger. With such a young and talented group, the future of basketball at our school looks very strong. Superb effort, team!

Children's University - Campus Discovery Day

Our senior students in Years 4, 5, and 6 were fortunate to visit Newcastle University recently as part of the Children’s University Program.

During the visit, students explored the campus and took part in a range of hands-on, engaging activities led by university professors and current students.

Highlights of the day included building towers in a Construction Management workshop, playing a variety of instruments during a music session, and experiencing what university life is like while touring the campus.

It was an inspiring and educational experience that sparked curiosity and excitement about future learning pathways.

NSW Premier's Spelling Bee - Years 2 to 6

Congratulations to all students who recently had lots of fun participating in our school Spelling Bee. It was wonderful to see so many students from Years 2 to 6 take the opportunity to showcase their spelling skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Special congratulations to Jacob M (Stage 2) and Mia H (Stage 3), our Spelling Bee winners, who will now represent our school at the Regional Spelling Bee early in Term 3. We wish you both the best of luck — happy spelling!

Year 6 Fundraising – Pizza Day

Thank you to all Year 6 families who recently attended the fundraising meeting to help organise some exciting events for the remainder of the year.

One highlight is our upcoming Pizza and Popper Day, where all families are invited to join us for a picnic lunch on the last day of Term 2 — Friday 4th July at 1:30pm. A big thank you to everyone who has supported Year 6 fundraising by ordering pizza to enjoy on the day.

To help celebrate the end of a fantastic term, students will also be selling Freddo Frogs and ice blocks for $1 each at both recess and lunch on the day.

In addition, Year 6 fundraising is inviting all families to contribute to a Mulbring Recipe Book by submitting a favourite recipe that students and their families love. More information about how to share your recipes will be sent out soon via School Bytes.
