"Connections of History and Arts in Vilnius"

"Art and Literature in Education's Nature. ls it an A.Li.E.N.?" - a KA229 Erasmus+ project

In this last mobility of our project we are trying to find out the connections between History & Arts in Vilnius as well as the Cultural & Historical Connections between five countries - Lithuania, Italy, Croatia, Turkey and Greece!

Off we go!

5th LTTA - Vilnius – Lithuania - "Connections of History and Arts"

1st day - Monday

Historical and cultural links - Baltic signs nowadays

At the gymnasium's auditorium!

Students presented a salsa dance and a traditional polka dance!

The school's choir sang parts of musical plays as well as national songs!

Two girls played the guitar and sang a song they composed themselves with lyrics of a famous poet!

and Gabijos Gymnasija students showed us some wonders of the Lithuanian culture!

2nd day - Tuesday

Connection of Lithuanian History & Art at the Palace of the Grand Dukes and Gediminas Tower

We learned about genealogy of Lithuania's rulers and their family ties with European monarchs. We saw a lot of wooden, metal and ceramic tools, some glasses and dishes, and also a lot of jewellery, such as rings and crowns with gems, chainlets, brooches . . .

3rd day - Wednesday

4th day - Thursday

Connections of different national cultures in architecture

5th day - Friday

Historical heritage of all partner countries - Intertextuality in XXI century

Students from each partner school chose to present two national songs

Students' Workshop: Intertextuality in XXI century storytelling

Students worked in six mixed international groups to produce stories which connected heroes of the 5 books they have read during our A.Li.E.N.? project

Time to say goodbye . . .

Walking to the modern part of Vilnius, near the Neris river we had the chance to admire the blooming cherry trees and have a farewell stroll around.

Each and every one of the partner students and teachers had such strong feelings realizing that we were experiencing the last activity, of the last day, of the last mobility of our 3-year A.Li.E.N.? project . . .

Vilniaus Gabijos Gimnazija was a perfect host of this 5th and last mobility of our Erasmus+ KA229 project.

This week's activities proved that Art & Literature are not ALIEN elements of our five schools!
