End-of-Year Medication and Health Supplies Pick-Up

As we approach the end of the school year, this is a reminder that if your child has medications &/or supplies in the Health Office, parents/guardians will need to pick it up prior to or on the last day your child will be in school. Per PSD policy, medications cannot be sent home with your child. If they are not picked up by May 29th 11:00am, they will sadly be discarded. Medications left in the health office will be properly disposed of by our school nurse following state health department procedures. Thank you for your understanding.

If medication is needed at school for the 2025-2026 school year, new forms are needed every school year and do not carry over, and must be dated after May 29, 2025 . Please visit the PSD website for information and new forms:

Tdap requirements for Incoming 6th Graders

SRO APRIL NEWS

Bicycle Safety and Prom Safety:

Hello PSD Families, it is hard to believe it is already April! This month, we felt it was important to discuss bicycle safety and Prom safety as warmer weather and Prom season approach.

As the weather starts to warm up, you are likely to see more bicycle riders to and from school. If your student rides their bicycle to school, please make sure that your student is taking measures to keep themselves safe! First and foremost, wear a helmet! Please ensure that your student wears their helmet and that you as parents, demonstrate safe practices by wearing one yourself while on a bicycle or scooter.

While traveling on a bicycle or scooter, please use the bicycle lanes and travel on the right side of the road, going the same direction of traffic. While crossing, use the crosswalks and make eye contact with drivers before crossing to ensure that you are seen. We are seeing a lot of students that are wearing ear buds while riding. While this can make a more entertaining ride, please remember that it is important to hear cars and other things around you. Consider using ear buds that allow noise around you or only using one.

As drivers, please be aware that there will be more bicycles on the road. Please remember that school zones are 20 mph and to be extra vigilant in these areas. Remember to take an extra look when pulling out of street parking outside of schools as bicycles may be coming from behind you.

Prom is coming! We wanted to send out a friendly reminder that drug and alcohol use, prior to or during prom will not be tolerated. School administration as well as SRO’s will be present at Prom and students will not be allowed in if they are impaired. Parents will be called to ensure the student has a safe ride home. School consequences will be in place if your student is found to be impaired at Prom. Most schools will also provide an after prom, in which the same rules will apply. We want Prom to be a happy memory from your student’s high school career!

Upcoming State and District Required Assessments:

In our spring semester we will be administering annual state and district required assessments. Please make note of the dates for the assessments your child will be taking and, whenever possible, please avoid absences during the testing periods. Please note that, on testing days, if students arrive late after testing has begun, they will not be able to join their class until testing has completed for the day. Having students on time and present on testing days helps us gather valuable data while minimizing interruptions to daily instruction. Please help us meet that goal!

Typically, assessments begin in the morning and conclude each day prior to lunch.

2nd Grade:

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP): May 6th and May 7th

3rd Grade:

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP): May 1st and 2nd

4th Grade:

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP): April 29th and 30th

5th Grade:

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP): April 29th and May 30th

Reporting Absences Thru ParentVUE

Why Use ParentVUE for Absences

If a student is not attending school for the day or series of days, the parent has the ability to document this absence in ParentVUE instead of making a call and leaving a voicemail for the attendance clerk.

How to Enter an Absence

  • Log in to ParentVUE
  • Click on "Report Absences" (listed on the left side panel)
  • Mark either 'E for Excused" or "EI for Excused Illness'. You can submit the attendance for a signledate or a range of dates by clicking on each day. (Future absences are not visible in PVUE until the date of the absence.)
  • Please leave a comment in the notes section, explaining the absence.
  • Click Save

Please let the Attendance Office know about ALL absences even if you have alerted the Classroom Teacher.

.

Volunteering at Riffenburgh

If you plan on Volunteering at Rifenburgh, you must register or check that your status is current with Poudre School District (PSD) thru the following portal (renewasl are every 3 years) before you come to school.

** Pelase remember to bring a Government Issued Identification (Driver's License)(DIGITAL IDs are not accepted) to school when you check in as a Vistor or Volunteer. This is a requirement for the Check In process.***

.

Classroom Treats

If it is necessary to have food in classrooms during school hours (i.e. birthday snack, holidays, special occasions, school events, etc.),

  • only commercially prepared and packaged, INDIVIDUAL items (NO CAKES or HUGE COOKIES ) with ATTACHED ingredient labels from retail stores can be served
  • contact your child's teacher prior to sending food or treats in
  • do not send in Balloons or Gifts for the Birthday Child
  • all treats should come to the Main Office.
