Dear Bluejay Family,
Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed the unexpected pause from the Blizzard of 2025. What a blessing it was to slow down and marvel at the beauty of God’s creation blanketing our world in white. Moments like these remind us of the joy found in spending time with loved ones and the peace of simply being present in His creation.
As we return to campus, we are excited to celebrate Catholic Schools Week together! This special time allows us to reflect on the blessings of our faith-filled community and the shared mission of St. Cecilia Catholic Elementary School. Please refer to the flyer attached to this newsletter for details about the dress themes for each day of the week. To help kick off this special week, no homework will be assigned on Monday night, so families can enjoy time together. At our school Mass on Wednesday, we will honor our Support Staff Member, Educator, and Supporter of the Year. We are also delighted to welcome our Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to this special celebration. Students should wear their Mass uniforms on Wednesday.
Thank you for your continued support of St. Cecilia School. Let’s make this Catholic Schools Week a joyful celebration of our school, our faith, and our community!
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal

Running Club
Students in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to join the Running Club, where they can exercise, build endurance, and have fun with friends. It meets on the playground after school on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00, starting the week of March 10 and ending the week of April 11 (weather permitting). Activities include warm-ups, stretching, and running/walking. Laps are recorded, and for every 30 laps (3 miles), students earn a small plastic shoe to hang on their book sacks.

St. Cecilia Fund
The St. Cecilia Fund is an annual fund and is open through the current fiscal year. If you have not had the opportunity to give for the 2024-2025 school year, it's not too late! Please consider an end of year gift to support our school.
REMINDER: Registration and Perpetual Maintenance fees are due in full no later than Friday, January 31, 2025. Please be sure to sign into your FACTS account and initiate payment if you are not enrolled in autopay for incidental billing to avoid late charges being added.
As a reminder, parish non-tithing fees will be billed in February. This $250 fee is billed to all families that have not met the minimum tithing amount ($250) to Sacred Heart or St. Joseph in Broussard for the calendar year 2024. Please make sure your donations are trackable (i.e. check, parish envelope, EFT, online). We can not track cash donations and if you are not a registered parishioner we literally do not have an account to apply your donations to which will likely lead to the $250 invoice being generated for your family. If you receive an invoice for the non-tithing fee in error, please contact Marsha Granger or Ann Dugas (emails below). You may be asked to provide proof of your donations if you are not a registered parishioner and/or giving in a way that we could not verify. If you are unsure of your 2024 tithing amount, please call Sacred Heart Church at 337.837.1864 or email mgranger@scsbluejays.org or adugas@scsbluejays.org to verify your giving history.
For a 25-26 schedule of tuition and fees, please visit scsbluejays.org and click the Admissions tab.
Dear Bluejay Family,
Well, Old Man Winter was the winner this week as he got the upper hand and won all of the games against the Bluejays! Everything was cancelled except for a few practices for basketball on Monday. We are approaching tournament week for basketball and soccer. We wish all of our teams the best of luck as they represent SCS. Due to the weather, there has been some rescheduling with soccer and basketball. See the calendar on the SCS Athletics Page for any and all updates. As we go out to support our teams, please remember that we represent more than SCS. Please be gracious in victory and defeat. We have a reputation of portraying the utmost in sportsmanship in all of our sports. Let's continue this, Bluejays.
Registration is now closed for golf, track, tennis, and swimming
As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers as well as active duty military, veterans, and first responders are admitted free for home games in our gym. The schedules are available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay sports. Our 7/8th Grade Football Team’s championship gear is available to purchase.
Have a blessed day,
Scott Boudreaux
Athletic Director
