Last month, The State Press brought our readers a plethora of Halloween sketches for a challenge called Inktober. This month brings a new challenge known as Huevember.
Huevember has spread through different online art communities, but for this challenge, the color palette for the illustrations was chosen by State Press illustrator Sarah Pedrini.

Next, let's take a look at some of our favorites from this month.
Jennifer Kao
"With these ones, it was a challenge to figure out how to express the depth and lighting without borrowing too much from other hue palettes, but I think they turned out well!" - Kao
"It was daunting to have to limit myself to a small color range, but I'm happy with how these pieces are still able to convey both the form and emotion I was planning for." - Kao
Sarah Pedrini
"Out of my illustrations, days 4 and 10 are the ones I am happiest with. I wanted to create a "stacked" feeling, like a diorama formed by paper cutouts, and those two are the closest to my vision." - Pedrini
"Playing with light and how it changes across the same environment was a fun experiment." - Pedrini
Hannah Armstrong
Aliya Carnahan
"My 2 favorites are probably the Apple core and the butterflies. I love how the butterflies turned out, each one has its own unique coloring and the composition is very 2000s which I LOVE. It reminds me a lot of Lisa Frank designs!" - Carnahan
"Then for the Apple core I really like the background colors with the lighter colors of the Apple, I think it has a really nice contrast. I did some crosshatching on some parts and thought that came out super cool!" - Carnahan
Caitlin Hawkinson
"My favorites were prompt 22 and 30. For the first one, I had a hard time getting the image in my head out onto my tablet, but I think I did a good job at portraying the sunlight coming through the water. I added the fish straying away from the rest at the very end of the process, and I'm glad I did. I think the composition has a cinematic feel to it that I really like." - Hawkinson
"As for the other, I think it came out nice and bright! I enjoyed simplifying the forms of the praying mantis and giving it big cartoonish eyes." - Hawkinson
