Media and Communication Arts major Margot Oxman '27 combined her passion for sports and filmmaking as the Director of Creative Content for the Upper Valley Nighthawks, a team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). Her work involved producing and delivering fast-paced sports content to showcase the team’s games and activities.
“The most rewarding part was doing something I loved, but with a team instead of on my own,” Margot explained. “I love sports, and making content about sports was so exciting- especially traveling to different parts of New England.”
The fast-paced environment was a shift from her previous experiences, where she could wait until the next day to post content. “This time I was getting things out almost instantly, which is such a valuable skill to learn,” Margot said. “I never would have learned how to work this way without being in that environment.”
Business Administration major Chris Hultin '26 worked as a Project Coordinator Intern at Granite Telecommunications in Quincy, Massachusetts. Throughout the summer, his communication skills grew significantly, while he gained valuable experience interacting with customers, vendors, technicians, and upper management. Through this internship, Chris fostered rewarding relationships and gained hands-on experience within the telecommunications and technology industry.
The internship also gave Chris a stronger sense of direction in his career. “It helped me strengthen and gain confidence in my field of business management,” he said. “I was able to explore project management specifically and develop a broader view of the management field.”
Graphic Design major Lindsey McCormack '27 returned to Superior Packaging and Bindery this summer as a Structural Engineer Intern. Lindsey’s work included developing print and paper requirements to achieve the best results for packaging and learning to use a leading structural design software called ArtiosCAD. The most rewarding part of her internship, she said, was working on major projects for high-profile clients such as Sony Music.
“I realized the importance of packaging engineering and how knowing the basics of graphic design can help support packaging designers,” she said. “I originally thought I wanted to do packaging design, but I discovered I’m more interested in creating the graphic elements instead.” Her advice to other students was direct: “Apply for internships related to what you think you want to do after graduation. It’s the best way to find out if it’s actually something you want to pursue.”
Diana Lucien '26, Psychology major, served as the Head of Star Village Administrator at Camp Starfish, a nonprofit camp supporting children with emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. In her role, she supervised staff and provided direct support to campers. Diana first learned about Camp Starfish during her first year at Curry when Professor Elizabeth Carey spoke about the camp’s mission and its one-to-one staff-to-camper ratio. She applied, was accepted, and has returned every summer since. The experience has reinforced her career goals, and confirmed how passionate she is about supporting children with emotional and behavioral challenges.
“The most rewarding part has been building strong, trusting relationships with campers and watching them grow,” she said.
