Nature's Best at Children's National Hospital

from the wild to the Halls of Children’s National HOSPITAL & CLINICS

Washington, D.C. — Children’s National Hospital (CNH) is ranked one of the nation’s top ten pediatric hospitals. Nature's Best Photography (NBP) is now exhibiting fine art prints in the CNH hospital and clinics. Award-winning photographs immerse patients, their families, visitors, and dedicated staff alike in nature’s calming beauty.

From Steve Freligh, NBP Awards Director:

“Our vision for exhibitions at Children’s National is to deliver uplifting visual storytelling to those who may benefit from it the most. These scenes and their stories instantly transport viewers from the stress of the hospital environment into the wonders of nature, inviting imagination and curiosity to become a highlight of their day.”

NBP Awards competitions have engaged the public since 1995 through publications, online galleries, exhibitions and events at the Smithsonian and other prestigious forums around the globe. We are proud to share the Nature's Best mission with a new audience in a platform that inspires and supports wellness and health, combining the art of photography with natural history education.

From Martha Parra, Children's National Vice President of Clinical Support Services:

“The Nature’s Best Photography Awards display is such a beautiful way to help our patients and families connect with nature. These stunning images convey an important sense of balance, peace, and joy.”

Nature photographers of all ages from around the globe are pleased to be featured in this program.

“My passion is wildlife conservation. Through our global preservation efforts, our television programs on Discovery Channel, and ongoing conservation promotion, my family and I are proud to spread this message. My photograph of a tundra swan flying free overhead with wings in perfect symmetry brings hope and helps educate others about our beautiful natural world.” —Robert Irwin.
“I am so honored to be able to share my image of two grizzly cubs in Alaska, showing the loving and natural behavior of bears.” — Ashleigh Scully, 2017 Youth Photographer of the Year.
