MEDIA & MODELING III FALL 2022 - graduate 1ST year course - instructor: yeinn oh

COURSE OVERVIEW

Advanced approaches to two and three-dimensional modeling and representation in architecture using both manual and digital media and techniques. As part of the Media Modeling sequence, this course is focused on introducing students to a wide array of digital tools and techniques as specifically applicable in a design setting. This course aims to cultivate a holistic approach to advanced modeling, incorporating troubleshooting, open-source collaboration, iterative exploration, and digital precision as key facets of architectural design practice.

The final assignment, featured below, required students to re-create a well-known architectural project of their choosing using a Grasshopper script that they created to analyze and understand the comprehensive techniques and strategies used. The chosen project was required to have a parametric design for either the building or facade design.
