ISTE Teacher standard: Design-5 digital learning environment.
1st grade technology standard 1: A student must use digital tools and resources for problem solving and decision making- Standard 3: A student must apply digital tools and skills with creatively and innovation to express his/herself, construct knowledge, and develop product and processes.
RL.1.7 Integration of Knowledge and Ideas: Unse illustrations and details to describe its characters, setting, or events. RL.1.2a Reading Standards for Literature-Key Ideas and Details-Retell stories, including details.
I use Seesaw for our main digital learning environment. I taught the students to upload their own digital portfolio pics and students can comment on each other’s pics. Students can “Appsmash” and upload them to their feed view. I also have activities/lessons sent to them through Seesaw. Another app that I use weekly with my students is Epic. I make a collection of books and the students can use those collections to make their reports. Seesaw and Epic helps me to give my students an engaging digital platform. I use Flip with my students for our Guidebook lessons. I ask them a question about our weekly Guidebook story and the students have to respond and comment to other students. I use the tools on Class Dojo to manage my technology in a virtual environment.
