Conrad Families-
Welcome back! We are so excited to begin a new school year together. Our students have already been diving into engaging learning experiences in the classroom, and it has been wonderful to see their energy and enthusiasm as they reconnect with their peers and teachers.
Fall athletics are also underway, with our high school student-athletes already competing, and middle school tryouts taking place this week. We encourage you to come out and support our student-athletes—your presence makes a real difference in building school pride and community spirit.
As we move forward into the year, I invite all families to re-engage with our school community. Whether it’s attending a game, joining an event, volunteering, or simply staying connected, your involvement helps make Conrad such a special place for our students to learn and grow.

Transportation Reminder
To ensure students remain safe and to adhere to traffic patterns, please be aware of the following:
For car riders, there is a one-way traffic pattern from Boxwood Road to Victoria Avenue during the hours of 7:00-7:30am and 2:00pm- 2:30pm. Cones have been placed strategically to ensure student safety and maintain the flow of traffic. Please do not move them.
The front circle is reserved for buses during the times posted (7:00-7:30am and 2:00pm- 2:30pm). No car riders should be picked up or dropped off at the front during this time.
Red Clay Block Party
Red Clay is holding its annual Block Party on Saturday, September 6th at the John Dickinson School. This event runs from 10:00am until 1:00pm and is a great time for the entire family! Come on out and celebrate the start of the school year with food, fun, games, live music, giveaways, and free school supplies!
2025 Meals Program
All Red Clay students in every Red Clay school building are able to enjoy a nutritious and delicious breakfast and lunch free of charge beginning this SY 25-26! Second meals and a la carte items still have associated fees.
School Picture Day and Retakes
Picture Day was this week on Thursday, September 4. Photo packages can be purchased directly from Legacy Studios in the link below (code 4673). Picture retakes will take place on Wed, Oct 22.
Yearbooks
Order your student's middle school or high school yearbook at the lowest price of the year! Don't delay, as prices go up on September 12.

Pack Pride Parking Lot Painting

Scholarship Opportunity
The Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host its biennial Jabberwock Scholarship Program this school year. The Jabberwock Program provides mentorship, personal development, and scholarship support for junior and senior girls with a minimum 2.5 GPA. The program runs from October 2025 through May 2026, ending in a culminating event where scholarships will be awarded. There will also be Meet & Greet / Information Sessions on September 14 and September 16, where students and families can learn more about the program and ask questions.

Back to School Kickoff - 6th and 9th Grade
Sixth and ninth graders started the school year off on Monday, August 25 with ice breaker games, team building, locker practice, Chromebook distribution, and building tours
A Yearbook Wedding
Students in Ms. Tran's High School Yearbook course made vows to one another to create a great yearbook and celebrated with exchanging rings, enjoying wedding cake, and toasting to a great year
Blindfold Challenge
Students in Ms. Rees's 6th grade math class practiced communication skills and learned whiteboard expectations with a blindfolded partner challenge
Rorschach Paintings
Students in Dr. Prillaman's Psychology course made Rorschach paintings on the first day of class to learn more about each other's personalities

Wellness Center
Conrad Schools of Science has an On-Site Wellness Center which is staffed with a Family Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority, a Registered Dietician, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Conrad celebrates 90 years of history! 90 years ago on August 27, 1935, Conrad opened its doors to students for the first time. The Class of 2026 recreated the photo from the first day to commemorate this milestone
