FROM THE Principal’s Desk

Dear Bluejay Family,

At St. Cecilia School, we are bound together in a network of support and encouragement. In the spirit of this message, I am excited to extend an invitation to Rockin' with the Bluejays on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 6:30 PM. This event is a FUNraiser! Tickets are only $65 and include food, beverages, and entertainment, making this an extremely affordable night out for couples and friends. I encourage each of you to invite your family and friends to join us for an evening of fun, fellowship, and camaraderie.

Your participation in Rockin' with the Bluejays is not only a chance to enjoy a night of music, laughter, and good company but also an opportunity to strengthen the foundation of our school community. Every ticket purchased, every smile shared, and every moment of camaraderie helps to ensure that St. Cecilia School continues to thrive and grow. I look forward to seeing you all there as we celebrate our shared journey of faith and education.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Finance Office

FACTS TUITION MANAGEMENT / INCIDENTAL BILLING:

Some of you have (hopefully) received notification from FACTS that your 24-25 tuition payment plans have been finalized. We are still in the process and hope to have it completed soon. If you do not receive an email from FACTS by the end of April, please contact Marsha Granger at mgranger@scsbluejays.org or call 337-837-1864, ext. 222.

Tuition Payment Plans consist of your child’s annual tuition and fees for a school year and include (1) tuition, (2) family fee, (3) technology fees, (4) room mom fees, and (4) class fees. FACTS automatically deducts these fees based on the plan selected during open enrollment. Please refer to the 24-25 tuition/fees information located on the SCS website for specific fee details. As a reminder, sibling discounts are not applied to PreK students.

Incidental Billing is the process by which SCS collects fees other than those included in tuition payment plans. These fees are billed to parents’ FACTS accounts throughout the year for after care, field trips, athletic fees, lost books, etc. This is also the process used by SCS to collect fees due during the registration process. Important to note is that if you are not enrolled in autopay for incidental billing then the FACTS Customer (parent) is responsible for logging in and initiating the payment for each incidental invoice. SCS recommends enrolling in autopay to avoid missed payments and late fees. If you need assistance enrolling in autopay, or would like more information, please contact Marsha Granger.

Invalid FACTS Account refers to a “hold” placed on a parent’s FACTS account due an issue with the financial account on file (expired credit card, NSF, closed account, etc.). When/if this occurs, FACTS can no longer attempt to withdraw funds until the financial account is corrected/updated and/or outstanding fees are paid. In addition, if you are enrolled in autopay for incidentals when an account becomes invalid then, you must “re-enroll” in autopay in order to allow FACTS to deduct fees automatically from the updated financial account.

Dear Bluejay Family,

We are approaching the end of the athletic year at SCS. Tennis had the week off last week, but we are all in action this week. Track has its championship meet on Wednesday at Teurlings. All of our teams are looking to finish strong. Golf is as consistent as ever. Swimming is making waves, pun intended. Tennis is continuing its dominance, and track will try to defend its titles from last year. Mrs. Henry and I will be meeting on Wednesday with the other principals and athletic directors from around the League to recap the year and look forward to making changes that will benefit our student athletes here at SCS.

Registration has begun for our fall sports for next year for 5th through 8th grade. Also, the sign up for the end of the year Athletic Banquet was sent this week. Tryouts for volleyball for 7th and 8th grade are set for Tuesday, May 14th for 8th grade and Wednesday, May 15th for 7th grade.

We are happy to have a wrestling coach as part of our Bluejay Family. Coach Kerry Boumans is the wrestling coach at STM. He will be hosting a camp for our 2nd through 12th graders at STM. I can personally attest to the benefits of wrestling as it lends strengths to other sports. Coach Kerry is a fantastic coach and ambassador for the sport. We are happy to have him as one of ours. Please see the flier below for more information.

Our golf team played against St. John Berchman, St. Ignatius, and Carencro Catholic on Tuesday at Les Vieux Chenes. The Bluejays finished 3rd on the day with a score of 224. They maintained their level of consistency that they have displayed all season. We look forward to a strong finish in the championship in the next two weeks. This is how the Bluejays finished up this week. We are proud of all of them!

  • Kolston Carter- 55
  • Lily Marceaux- 55
  • Hunter Fontenot- 59
  • Everett Plauche– 57
  • Jack Bergeron- 59
  • Reed Wyatt– 60
  • Sloan Girouard- 54
  • Ellen Bourgeois- 63
  • Heidi Derge- 63

Our swim team competed in the make up meet on Wednesday. The Bluejays did very well again. Despite being a small squad, they are near the top in multiple races. It is quite a sight to see the kids perform so well against some tough competition. There is no doubt that you will be hearing some of these names in the high school swim circuit. We are so proud of them and look forward to hearing more exciting results!

The Bluejay track team was at Breaux Bridge on Thursday for their final meet of the season. They will now be turning their attention to the championship meet at Teurlings Catholic on Wednesday. The coaches will be evaluating scores and distances and putting a championship team out there on Wednesday. Please come out to support the Bluejays. The one takeaway from this track season is the kids willingness to try new events without hesitation. This will help them as they approach their high school years. The coaching staff is beyond proud of them and what they have accomplished thus far.

In an effort to improve our athletic programs at St. Cecilia, it was felt that a comprehensive athletic handbook was needed. This handbook affects players, coaches, parents, and fans. Parent/guardian completion of this form and adherence to the rules and regulations outlined in the handbook are requirements for participation in athletic programs at St. Cecilia School. The link below will take you to the handbook. It is also on the school website for reference as well. Thank you all for your continued support of SCS Athletics.

For those that have already completed the acknowledgement form, and want to refresh themselves on the rules and regulations, please follow the link below.

****We are so proud of our SCS 7/8th Grade football, 5th Grade White and 7th Grade volleyball teams' fantastic accomplishments this fall. We can now officially celebrate our championships in volleyball and football by purchasing apparel from Action Specialties. These are school approved and can be worn as part of the school uniform. There is a tab on the top horizontal bar for championship apparel. Thanks again for your support of SCS Athletics!

***Thank you for your support of SCS Athletics! To keep up with the schedule for our Bluejays, please follow the link below. Admission into League games are $6 for adults and $1 for kids. SCS staff and students are admitted free.

Have a blessed day,
