It's been a busy, busy week in Lower School! Take a look at all the fun we have had this week! 🙂
On Monday, we welcomed Heledd from Urdd Cymru who came with some really cool headphones that meant we could have our very own silent disco to celebrate Dydd Miwsig Cymru. Diolch yn fawr mawr to Miss Griffiths in our Welsh department for organising this for us!
Nursery have continued with the Welsh theme and started their Eisteddfod competition entries painting pictures inspired by our artist this year, Rhiannon Roberts. The children had a great time exploring with watercolour paints.
Reception have also started on their Eisteddfod competition entries. They have designed a castle in the style of Rhiannon Roberts and creative castle writing.
Year 1 have completed their handwriting and creative sentence for our Eisteddfod. They have also completed their first Minecraft challenge, adding a moat around a castle. Inspired by the keep in Cardiff Castle, they made catapults and completed a science investigation about which object would go the highest and furthest.
Reception and Year 1 went on a school trip to Cardiff Castle on Wednesday, they had so much fun exploring the Keep and the inside of the castle. They also had a workshop telling stories about Knights and Dragons. It was such a fun day with amazingly well behaved children. Da iawn pawb!
