This week in DT, the children were set a challenge to design and make a chair for Baby Bear. They explored different materials, thinking about which ones would be suitable and compared natural and man-made options. They also had to consider how strong and stable their chair needed to be. After lots of hands on testing, the children discovered that structures with a flat, wide base and those closer to the ground were much more stable.
We also had a great time at Forest School, enjoying the fresh air. The children loved exploring the forest, climbing, digging, and discovering all sort of things in nature. The signs of autumn are definitely settling in.
The children also created some lovely poppy pictures this week to mark Remembrance Day. They took such care with their artwork and showed a real sense of empathy as we talked about why we remember.
