The Enemy Is At The Gate

Interpretation: “To arms” is an ancient call to “bear arms” to plus up and to ready yourself to face the imminent danger of enemy forces. It is also a holy call. 1 Peter 5:8-9 and Ephesians 6:11 come to mind. In war the FEBA or Forward Edge of the Battle Area is critical terrain. Our past 50 years of spiritual warfare is a history of the American church retreating back from the FEBA into church buildings. In natural warfare we would refer to such maneuvering as retreating to defensive bunkers or forts. We are then isolated from the culture, unlike the Church at Antioch. But where is the enemy we are facing?
