Superheroes nursery, autumn term, week 10

We are Superheroes! It has been so much fun this week pretending to have super powers. We even had a mission to complete... to find Mrs Branson's favourite toy. We stuck up 'lost' posters around school. It turns out a baddie called Mrs Evil had stolen it! We got it back with our super powers.

Meet Fred Frog. I have a feeling he will be very important to us this year.

Our super powers were put to good use outside with some physical games. We practised number recognition whilst aiming missiles at a target.

Big strong arms.
Taking turns and helping each other by collecting the beanbags.

Our literacy focus this week has been tuning into sounds, a pre-reading skill that will help us hear and recognise letter sounds soon. We've also worked on our pre-writing skills with some fun write-dancing and scrimbling.

Warming up our shoulder muscles through dancing.
Mark making on a large scale to activate those all important brain-hand connections.

We nuture our creativity through engaging play opportunities. This week it has been designing and making our own superhero characters, a range of sensory play (Mrs Ranson was covered head to toe in 'gloop' and loving it), and using our imaginations to pretend we work in a hairdressers. Mr Roberts had his hair dyed pink!

The highlight this week definitely had to be our first ever school trip on the minibus! The children were beautifully well behaved.

Dance workshop.
Trying some new dance moves.
Listening carefully to the instructions.

The show was by the BalletLORENT company and was extremely professional. Thank you to all the dancers for making us feel so welcome.

Awe and wonder, meeting the dancers.

Next week on Monday and Tuesday are our parents meetings. Please come to the main office five minutes before your appointment time. Looking forward to meeting you and celebrating the progress your child has made so far this term.
