Introducing The Viking’s Whisper: OV’s First Student Literary Magazine

Otselic Valley is proud to announce the launch of its first-ever student literary magazine, The Viking’s Whisper -- a creative publication led by Mrs. Brown’s Creative Writing class.

This student-produced magazine features a vibrant collection of original poems, short stories, a one-act play, and more. From writing to editing to layout design, the entire magazine was created by OV students and showcases their unique voices and talents.

Storytime Inspiration Across the Grades

In a heartwarming cross-grade collaboration, students from Mrs. Brown’s Creative Writing class shared their original picture books with our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classrooms.

These young authors spent weeks writing and illustrating their stories before reading them aloud during special classroom visits. The result? Pure magic.

Elementary students were fully engaged, inspired by the stories—and several even shared their dream of becoming authors one day!

This event celebrated creativity, encouraged early literacy, and built meaningful connections between students of different ages.
