Digital Media

This month digital media classes focused on improving and practicing their shutter speed skills and production management. Level 1 students worked on creating detailed shot lists to plan and organize their projects effectively. Level 2 students focused on strengthening their photography skills, experimenting with shutter speed to capture motion and lighting more creatively. Level 3 students have been working extremely hard producing videos for Titan TV and managing content for the school’s sports page, demonstrating leadership and advanced production skills throughout the month.

Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine 1 In Sports Medicine 1, students are diving into the cardiovascular system and learning why it is so important to the human body. They are exploring how the heart, blood, and blood vessels work together to deliver oxygen and nutrients to muscles and organs, especially during physical activity. Students are also learning how the cardiovascular system helps remove waste products, regulate body temperature, and support overall performance and recovery. By making connections to exercise, injury prevention, and overall health, students are gaining a better understanding of how this system plays a major role in both everyday life and athletic performance.   Sports Medicine 2 In Sports Medicine 2, students are currently learning all about the knee joint and its role in movement and athletic performance. They are studying the anatomy of the knee, including bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles, to understand how the joint functions. Students are also learning about common knee injuries, how they occur, and the signs and symptoms associated with them. In addition, the class is exploring treatment options and rehabilitation strategies, helping students understand how injured athletes can safely recover and return to activity.

Entrepreneurship

Year 1 & Year 2 We spent the last couple weeks working through our Leadership lessons which culminated in our Leadership exam and project.  In this project they are asked to address an issue facing students today.  Their goal is to define the issue, propose a solution, identify all action steps from start to finish. To accomplish this they have to build a fictional team, define roles/responsibilities for this team, define their success criteria/metrics and then discuss how they plan to lead this project using various  aspects from the Leadership & SkillsUSA lessons will be used to complete this projects. All of this will then be part of a 1 minute pitch presentation.  In addition to the Leader Year 1: Once the Leadership project presentations are complete, will being our 1st look into 3D printing.  This is usually reserved for year 2 classes but by bringing the basics into year 1, in year 2 & 3 they can build more complete models and products as well as using 3D prints to supplement other projects. Year 2: Started OSHA10 training for their certifications.  This is self paced and the goal is to finish them in the next week or so.  The 1st portion of the year 2 class, embarked on a field trip to Garner Holt where the overall opinion was it was fun, exciting and entertaining.  Due to group size requirements the second half of the year 2 will go this week.  Once the projects are done they are moving into product development lessons where they will start their laser engraving projects.
