2024 Year in review
Happy New Year! We would like to take this opportunity to share a few of the highlights from the work done last year.
- February - AzEIP officially partnered with the General Services Administration’s Office of Solutions for the Notify.gov pilot project. This is a text messaging platform built for government agencies to simplify the public’s experience navigating government programs by utilizing targeted texting campaigns.
- AzEIP’s first campaign launched in November 2024 focusing on loss of contact with focused efforts to re-engage families and potentially re-open referrals.
- April - the Arizona legislature passed House Bill 2137 into law. The AzEIP team developed a Technical Assistance bulletin to assist the Service Providing Agencies with implementing the law and enhanced the AZEIP Community Resource Guide.
- In July, the Department of Economic Security merged divisions and programs to create the Child and Community Services Division (CCSD). The Arizona Early Intervention Program, Division of Child Care, and the Division of Community Assistance and Development were brought together to create CCSD to improve supports for Arizona families.
- September - The Comprehensive System of Professional Development (CSPD) and ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College launched the Early Intervention Specialization professional learning program focused on children birth to age 3. Learn more by reading the DES Press Release.
