Dear Bluejay Family,
As we continue working together to maintain a safe environment, we’d like to remind everyone of the importance of following our carline procedures. While some of these reminders may feel repetitive, each step is intentionally designed to protect our students, staff, and families, and to meet both legal and safety requirements. With everyone’s cooperation, we can keep arrival and dismissal as safe, smooth, and efficient as possible.
Please remember:
- No cell phones while in carline. Even hands-free, they are a distraction.
- Turn right on to Main Street when exiting carline.
- No left turns from Main Street until you reach Jefferson Street.
Thank you for your dedication to these practices and for helping us keep St. Cecilia a safe and nurturing space for all.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our 8th Grade Service Project this past week. Your enthusiasm and presence—whether cheering, officiating, or lending a hand at the 8th Grade vs. Faculty Volleyball Game—are deeply appreciated. Every contribution brings us closer to establishing our campus prayer garden, a lasting legacy and a place of peace for all to connect with God.
Last but not least, excitement is building for the upcoming 100th Broussard Community Fair! This year’s fair will be truly memorable—"The Greatest Show on Earth" for our community! We’re especially thrilled with the enthusiasm surrounding our “Even Grander” Grand Raffle, offering prizes of $7,500, $1,000, and $500. With your participation and support, this promises to be a milestone year for our school and community. We can’t wait to see you all there!
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry
Principal

Sacred Heart/SCS Christmas Food Basket Service Project
As we have done every year, each class will partner with Sacred Heart to put together food baskets for the needy in our community. Those details will go home before the Thanksgiving break. If your family would like to go a step further, please see below for the additional ways to serve…
KNOW SOMEONE IN NEED?
We are accepting applications for the Christmas Food Baskets until December 1st. If you know someone in need within the Broussard community, have them visit us at the parish office Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10:00AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Requests must be made in person at the parish office with a valid photo I.D.
WANT TO SPONSOR?
On December 7th Christmas basket recipients will receive a voucher for a turkey and fresh fruit. If you would like to support needy families, you can contribute by making a payment to Sacred Heart and writing Christian Charities in the memo line.
VOLUNTEERS TO HELP DELIVER CHRISTMAS BASKETS NEEDED ON DECEMBER 7TH
We are looking for groups of volunteers (entire families, couples, groups of friends, etc.) to help deliver the Christmas Baskets. We highly encourage that each needy family be visited by a group of parishioners. More than simply dropping off a basket of food, we want to create an experience of hospitality and Christian charity. Groups are encouraged to visit, pray with and hand deliver the Christmas Baskets on Saturday morning, December 7th.
If you are interested in serving in this way, volunteers will gather at 8:00AM in the Parish Life Center (PLC) for prayer, instruction, and preparation. Volunteers should preregister by going to: shbroussard.churchcenter.com/registrations/events.
Progress reports
Quarter 2 progress reports have been sent out this past Friday, November 8th. Parents in grades 2-8 should have received the email along with students in grades 4-8.

8TH GRADE OPPORTUNITY (LAST WEEK TO ENTER)

How can you determine if the leader has these virtues?" The top essay writers receive gift cards and move on to compete at larger area contests. The deadline to turn in the essay is Thursday, November 14, 2024. Please submit all essays to Mrs. Terracina by email at mterracina@scsbluejays.org.

Dear Bluejay Family,
We have gotten to the midway point of our fall and winter sports. Our basketball teams have been practicing, and our soccer teams will be hitting the fields next week. We are beyond proud of our sports teams that have played thus far this year. Special thanks go to our coaches that have sacrificed family and work time to instruct our kids on the technical aspects of sports while keeping sportsmanship paramount.
We are excited to announce that the annual Powder Puff Football Game will be held this week at STM on Wednesday November 13th. Our 8th Grade Football players will be coaching all of the 8th grade girls. The event is one of the most anticipated events for our 8th graders. A portion of the proceeds this year will go to the Faith House for Christmas presents for those less fortunate during the holidays. Please see the flier attached.
It is time to sign up for the Broussard Community Fair 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.
As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers are admitted free for home games in our gym. The schedules are in and available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay athletics.
Have a blessed day,
