Y10 Textiles students visited Kew Gardens, with the aim to gather primary images to inspire textiles samples based on their coursework theme of 'Structures and Surfaces'. All students took a wide range of photos from the gardens and all the greenhouses that we explored.
Students also viewed the 'Material World' exhibition in the temperate house during our visit. The exhibition explores the connections between plants, textiles and sustainability. The exhibition displayed a range of textiles outcomes, which included both fashion garments and Textiles installation pieces. The trip to Kew Gardens has provided the students lots of inspiration for creating smaller samples and ideas for final outcomes.
