The Week Ahead

Around East This Week

Math 7 Students with Mrs. McDevitt and Mrs. Gentner worked hard this week on their 3D Animals, they showed all they know and learned from Math this year with calculating surface area and volume of all of the different shapes! Special thanks for Mrs. McDevitt for putting this together for the kids!
Students worked with Mrs. French and Mrs. Kushel to beautify MSE by planting and weeding the planters behind MSE to make a great space to spend some time outside!

This week's Eagle of the Week is 8th Grader Alexis G. who was nominated by Mr. Hauser who said "Alexis is such an amazing person, she always is smiling and is willing to help out when needed. 8th Grade Promotion & Awards

MSE will be hosting its first ever "8th Grade Promotion and Awards Ceremony" on Wednesday June 12 at 9:30 AM. Please save the date to celebrate our 8th graders! All students are invited to attend. At the 8th Grade Promotion and Awards Ceremony, we will be honoring those students who have earned academic honors and accolades throughout their middle school career (ex. Honor Roll, Celebration of Excellence, Athletic Awards, Eagletude, etc) but also celebrating the entire MSE 8th Grade Graduating Class as they move on to high school!

Parking for 8th Grade Promotion

Parents of 8th graders: Please use the map below and only park in our main lot for 8th grade promotion and awards. Do not use the back side of MSE as those are reserved for staff and busses and we need to ensure our busses can get to school to pick the kids up at the end of the day. Pay attention to the areas of no parking as those are bus and fire lanes. All visitors will enter through the main entrance when doors open at 9:15 AM, and the ceremony will begin at 9:30 AM. At the conclusion of the ceremony, students are not allowed to leave the building until the end of the school day at 11:19. You are welcome to take pictures with your child in the gym, main hallway, but students will not be signed out ahead of 11:19. The ceremony should conclude around 11:00.

8th Grade Clap Out Information

Our 8th grade Clap-Out will take place (rain or shine) on Thursday, June 13th. We will begin at approximately 10:50 am (8th grade students will start walking at 10:55 am). All 8th grade parents are welcome to line up in the parent area along the north end of the track field. The 6th and 7th grade students will be on the south end of the track. You are more than welcome to bring poster boards, balloons, flowers or any other celebratory items to celebrate the culmination of 3 years for your student here at Middle School East. Students will walk around the track saying goodbye to their 6th and 7th grade classmates, teachers and parents. At the end of the clap-out, 8th grade students are welcome to take pictures as long as they are not riding a bus home – students riding a bus home will go directly to the bus to leave. Please see the map below for where to park and set up on the football field.

Save the Date: Eagle Day

For parents of our 6th and 7th grade students who will be returning to MSE next year, kindly save the date, August 20, for Eagle Day! Students will get their schedules and other information that day as we start school on Monday August 26 this year.
