Vice-captain Madison talks about Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min's warm leadership was revealed. The England national attacking midfielder, who has moved to Tottenham this season and is active, praised it.

Son Heung-min's team, Tottenham Hotspur vice-captain James Madison of the Premier League (EPL), praised Son Heung-min as a "cool person who I want to hug every time I see him." Now, it has been about 100 days since the two of them ate together, but there was a reason why we were in sync in real life.

Madison said in an interview released by the British media Daily Mail on the 22nd, "Son Heung-min is the kind of person I want to hug loudly every time I see him in the morning. I can do that now, he said. "Son Heung-min is originally a wonderful person."

"When I was at Leicester City, I didn't know (Son Heung-min) well, but he came to me and shook hands after the game. He also gave me a hug and praised me as a player," he added.

Madison, a "newcomer" midfielder who moved from Leicester City to Tottenham this summer, was chosen by coach Anji Postecoglou to take the vice-captain position.

He will lead the team in harmony with captain Son Heung-min. The other member of the captaincy is Argentine national defender Cristian Romero.

Madison said, "Son Heung-min is a warm man and a fantastic captain. "If Son Heung-min is your captain, I don't want to disappoint him," he said. Because he's a really good person and has a high standard," he said.

"That kind of heart is contagious to the entire group," he said. "Son Heung-min is a great captain and a great friend."

Maddison, however, pointed out that Son Heung-min, a striker, needs to work harder on the ground. Madison said, "The former team striker was Jamie Vardy, who had different characteristics from Son Heung-min," adding, "You have to match the wavelength with the same team striker to succeed (as a midfielder). "I passed it, but if (the striker) plays differently, it doesn't fit well," he said.

Vardy is a typical target-type striker and tends to have a concise finish within the penalty area. Since Son Heung-min can see both wingers and front-line strikers, it is interpreted that Madison also needs to study Son Heung-min's movements more.

However, the two are quickly hitting each other's hands and feet as Madison assisted Son Heung-min's goal against Burnley in September.

Son Heung-min and Madison have also been on the Premier League's 'Player of the Month' once this season. In August, Madison won the Player of the Month, signaling that he has quickly risen to Tottenham's key player. Son Heung-min won the Player of the Month last September. With the fourth "Player of the Month" in his career, he is offsetting the reduction in power caused by Harry Kane's transfer to Bayern Munich, the most prestigious German Bundesliga, last summer along with Madison.

Their physical touch in the stadium is also amazing. Son Heung-min and Madison both have signature ceremonies.

Son Heung-min is gaining popularity by performing a click ceremony as if he was taking a picture by making a square with his two hands. There is even a mural depicting his "Click" ceremony in downtown London. Madison has a ceremony like throwing a dart by applying it to darts, a game enjoyed by Britons. Both of them get close quickly by doing the opponent's ceremony together when their partners score a goal.

Son Heung-min and Madison, who left their teams and went to the national team for the past two weeks, are now working together to regain Tottenham's lead. Tottenham will play against Fulham in the ninth round of the 2023/24 Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, at 4 a.m. on the 24th, and both are expected to start the offense.

Tottenham is leading the league with six wins and two draws (20 points) this season. He fell to fourth place, behind Manchester City, Arsenal (21 points) and Liverpool (20 points), which have already played nine rounds, but he was the No. 1 player ahead of Arsenal in multiple points at the end of the eighth round. If they beat Fulham, they will regain the top spot over Manchester City and Arsenal as they reach 23 points on points, not on the difference or multiple points.

There was a lot of concern about line injuries to Tottenham players during the A match, but coach Postecoglou directly dismissed it. Son Heung-min and Christian Romero, who were suspected of injury, announced that there was no problem.

Coach Postecoglou said, "Though Son Heung-min and Christian Romero suffered inconveniences during the A match, both players are healthy," hinting that there is no problem with the top lineup.

In Tottenham, Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, whose anterior cruciate ligament was torn on the 20th of last month, and Israeli winger Manor Solomon, who was on the operating table due to a meniscus injury on the 5th, were listed as injured, and fortunately, no additional injuries occurred during the October A match.

In addition to Son Heung-min, Madison also praised Coach Postecoglou, who leads Tottenham's cruise at the beginning of the season by advocating his unique "attack football."

Tottenham are unbeaten with six wins and two draws in eight league games since the opening. "The director is a really motivational speaker," Madison said. "Everyone listens when we talk. I can't even blink," he explained.

"I talk about my actual daily life in connection with soccer, but it's hard to explain it to anyone who hasn't heard (the speech)," he said. "Connecting soccer with life and family makes us all play for the coach himself. I was born with talent in that way," he said.

Madison described director Postecoglou as an "alpha mail (manly man)" and such appearances are also appearing at actual press conferences.

Asked at a press conference earlier this month, "How do you take care of the players' happiness?" Coach Postecoglou replied without difficulty, "It's not my role to take responsibility for the players' happiness," adding, "It just creates an environment where players can be more respected and contribute more."

"Not all players are given fair playing time because only 11 players can play," Postecoglou said, adding that he had already instilled his philosophy in the team by saying, "I talked with the players this week."

"Candidates such as Ben Davies, Emerson Royal and Oliver Skipp train hard, but they don't play," Postecoglou said. "If the main players don't work hard, they could lose their seats. "This is how I set the standard for Tottenham." Coach Postecoglou's position is that no matter how valuable and good a player is, he cannot play unless he tries.

"[Davies, Royale, Skip, among others]I think we should know that the players are not satisfied (with the playing time)," he said, adding, "I mentioned Fraser Foster a few weeks ago, and because we set high standards and train, we can play our current performance."

Foster is Tottenham Hotspur's backup goalkeeper. Postecoglou said in September, "Posters show amazing skills every time in training," adding, "I wasn't lucky in the match against Fulham (League Cup last August). Foster played well. "Both Foster and Guillermo Vicario push themselves to the limit every day," he said, expressing satisfaction with Foster.

There is also touch to manage each player, but coach Postecoglou means that he sets fair standards that players can understand and divides the playing time and roles accordingly. His philosophy is implicitly expressed in his remarks that "the happiness of players is not my specialty."

Madison, who is good but can now look at the team objectively because he is in Tottenham, praised him as he recalled his memories with Son Heung-min. He also expressed respect to Postecoglou. 토토

Before the season, Kane disappeared and Tottenham had a lot of question marks due to coach Postecoglou from Australia, the new continent of soccer, but now it is disappearing. Although it is the League Cup on August 30, I wonder what other chemistry Son Heung-min and Madison will show in the match against Fulham, which they won after a penalty shoot-out. The Tottenham-Pulham match is all the more eye-catching as it is the first Premier League night game of the season.
