"With all the technological and scientific development of the twentieth century, I believe the change in status of the female will be one of the most significant and powerful sociological developments because of its more emotional, personal and human nature." –Reuben Hale
“Our art will be valid if it communicates the truths of our time.” –Reuben Hale
"When we moved here and I started teaching [at Palm Beach Junior College], there was no other Art school in Florida to study Art except The University of Miami, Florida State University and The University of Florida. We suddenly had commuter students each day from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Vero and Fort Myers. We had an enrollment of about 400 art students and more new faculty." –Reuben Hale
"Students didn’t want to leave and some would work at night until they were run out. Gene Arant and I would sometimes stay at school until the wee hours of the night just to let them work. These students I would put up against any in the world at the same level." –Reuben Hale
