All Saints' Day It's your day!

Welcome

Welcome back to Our Savior Hawaii's Online Sunday School! Today, we remember and celebrate All Saints' Day. On November 1 each year, the church gives thanks for the saints of God. A saint is someone who believes Jesus is their Savior. We remember saints who have died and now celebrate eternal life with Jesus. We thank God for living saints who share Jesus with us. We celebrate what Jesus has done for us and that we are saints.

Share

What was the best moment of the last week for you? The worst? How did you see God at work in the last week? What is your God sighting?

Watch

Sing and Dance

Let's sing, dance, and celebrate that there is a place for us in heaven!

Scripture

1 John 3:1-3 HCSB

Look at how great a love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children. And we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it didn’t know Him. 2 Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He is pure.

Talk

We are children of God and saints. What does this truth mean for your life? How has God shown us His love? Who is a saint you admire for following Jesus?

Engage

Take a walk around your neighborhood looking for leaves. Save the ones that catch your attention. When you get home, share your collection and say something about why you chose each leaf. What made it beautiful or interesting? Every single one is unique, just like the saints of God. Share what makes you a unique and unreproducible miracle of God.

Make a memory jar and keep it in a central location at home. If someone you love died this year, it can be for memories about that person; otherwise, it can hold memories about your life together this past year. When you think of a memory to add, write it down and put it in the jar. When you are experiencing moments of sadness or grief, take a memory out and read it. Pray

God, We praise you for all the saints. We thank you for the people who lived in faith before us and pray for the people who will be born after us. Help us remember that we are part of a big human family united in Your love. Amen.
