Johnston Community Primary School Friday 2nd February 2024

Dear parents/guardians,

I would like to begin by thanking our Friends of the School for running our school disco last week. The money that we raise as part of these events supports us to purchase resources and materials for pupils and we are very grateful to the parents who give up their time to support us running these events.

This is a short term, meaning every day is important. Attendance often dips either side of Christmas, so please do keep doing everything you can to keep our children healthy and wherever possible ensuring they are in school every day.

Children's projects are well underway, and this week I have seen enthusiastic and engaged children across the school.

If you haven't taken the time to explore the curriculum pages of our website, I would encourage you to do so. We are always updating it and it includes helpful overviews of our curriculum in each subject.

MUSEUM- Wednesday 7th February.

On Wednesday 7th February (apologies, last week I recorded the wrong date) we are going to reopen our school museum in the hall. Please make sure you call in to see all of the wonderful work that has been taking place this term. It will only take ten minutes of your time.

As ever, if there is anything that I can help with, my email address is Williamsr1688@hwbcymru.net

Kind regards,

Mr. Williams.

Friday Booking Form

Please ensure that pupils are booked for Friday afternoon provision using this form. This allows me to plan staffing effectively. Last week several children stayed for afternoon provision who were not booked in. Please ensure that you have booked your child in using this from.

Attendance Reminder

This week, our attendance has been 93.5% Well done to year three who achieved 99% . This is so close to 100% I am going to plan a campfire treat with Mrs Lane. Da iawn pawb.

Don't forget the really useful guidance provided by the NHS: Is my child too ill for school?

This will help you make a decision about whether to keep a child off school or send them in. Please remember that minor coughs and colds should not prevent a child from coming into school.

This time of year is really exciting and busy. If children miss school they are not only missing learning, but often will miss lots of our special events and activities, which makes them feel left out.
