This year seven children in need of restorative dental care received life-changing dental services and access to a dental home to help them get the routine care they need to prevent future tooth decay.

One of those kids is three year-old Sergey,* who recently immigrated with his family from one of the poorest nations in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Sergey’s father brought his family of five to the other side of the world in order to provide a better life for his children. Although he secured a job, the family was still living well below the federal poverty level.

Because of his family’s green card status Sergey is ineligible for Medicaid. But that didn’t stop our Dental Resource Program member in Kansas City, MO from providing an exam, cleaning, and fluoride treatment for Sergey and his older brother and sister at no charge.

The staff discovered rampant tooth decay and dental abscesses on Sergey’s older siblings and cavities on three of Sergey’s teeth. After treating the urgent dental needs of his siblings, little funding was left to provide early intervention for Sergey to prevent a similar outcome. That’s when they reached out to us for help.

Thanks to the funding we received from a generous donor, we could help our partner restore Sergey’s smile to good health as well as establish a dental home for his family for the first time in their lives.

The benefit of connecting kids like Sergey with a dental home is what sets our mission apart from other charitable dental service programs. Children need a lifetime of routine dental care in order to keep their mouths healthy. Our partners not only address immediate dental needs, but also provide essential preventive dental services for kids so they can break the cycle of poor oral health and grow up with healthy smiles!

Thanks to the support of America’s ToothFairy, we can provide children with much-needed dental care supplies and care, both through outreach clinics and in-clinic procedures.”

Our corporate partners help our program members increase make a difference for more kids in need of critical dental care. 2024 product donations valued at more than

helped 49 clinics across the country provide dental treatment and preventive services for more than 185,000 children who may have otherwise slipped through the cracks. A few highlights are featured below.

RESTORATIVE PRODUCTS

GC America donated $70,000 worth of restoratives that helped Augusta Regional Dental Clinic in Fishersville, VA (pictured) and 11 other clinics across the U.S. to provide restorative care to over 19,000 kids, freeing them from the pain and infection that often result from untreated tooth decay.

KinderSmile Foundation in Summit, NJ (above) and 30 clinics in our network received $1.2 million dollars worth of carbide and diamond burs from SS White Dental! Donations like these help our members stretch their budgets and offer high-quality, private-practice-level care to more children without passing costs onto patients.

EDUCATIONAL TOOLS

To make dental hygiene engaging for young kids, SmileMakers donated 200 dental puppets that we provided to program members like Kids Community Dental Clinic in Burbank, CA (pictured) and 112 oral health advocates reaching thousands of kids in 35 states across the country.

These monkey puppets will be used for years to come to teach countless kids about proper brushing and flossing technique and the importance of healthy dental hygiene habits!

DENTAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES

Crest and Oral-B donated over 25,000 tubes of toothpaste and more than 50,000 kids toothbrushes, and SmileMakers provided 50,000 toothbrushes that were distributed to schools, clinics, food banks, and other community spaces in 33 states.

Donations like these enable children, like those served by Community Dental Care (CDC) in Maplewood, MN, to maintain good daily oral hygiene even if their families cannot afford these essentials.

More than 25,000 other oral care products were also distributed by Smile Drive volunteers across the country.

“Oral hygiene supply donations are distributed in community settings, targeting low-income, diverse and underserved communities,” shared Crystal Yang (pictured above) of CDC. For many kids, access to these products can prevent dental disease and open doors to further oral health education and services.

Other generous product donors included CosmedentCustMBite, and Tokuyama Dental America.

Product donations from America’s ToothFairy significantly impact Let’s Smile’s mission by enhancing the ability to provide essential dental care and education to underserved children.”

Tooth decay is mostly preventable...

...yet it is still the most common chronic disease among America’s youth. That’s why education is such an important part of our mission.

In addition to the resources provided tohundreds of partners across the US through our Health Education Resources and Outreach (HERO) Program (see program update here) we also provide valuable resources to the safety-net dental clinics that participate in our Dental Resource Program.

These resources can include printed educational materials, ToothFairy 101® Community Education Kits, dental hygiene supplies, and support for community outreach events like free screenings and health fairs.

Here is what we accomplished together this year:

[The kits] helped us engage with youngpatients and their parents during our community events. As a result, we have welcomed 454 new patients. That’s a 60% increase compared to the same period the year before!”

— Sophie Parsons, Augusta Regional Dental Clinic, Fishersville, VA

We can do so much more together!

When kids grow up with healthy smiles they are less likely to miss school, are more confident to share their smile with others, and have greater job opportunities as adults. America’s ToothFairy exists to remove barriers to dental care

We can’t do it alone.

Since 2006 we’ve helped more than 10.6 million youth receive the dental services they need to grow up with the healthy smiles they need to succeed in life.

Your gift will help even more in 2025!
