D3 New England Championships

On Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th, the Mammoths competed at the Division 3 New England Championships. Emma Ramsingh broke her own School Record in the Discus with a throw of 47.08 Meters (154' 5")!

Day 1

Decathlon

The action kicked off on Friday in the Decathlon, which Santi Benbow and Zach Villegas competed in. The Decathlon started with the 100, where Santi ran a personal best time of 11.72 seconds and Zach ran a time of 12.19 seconds! In the Long Jump, Santi jumped 4.64 meters (15' 2.75") and Zach jumped 5.79 meters (19' 0"). Next in the Shot Put, Santi threw a personal best of 8.75 meters (28' 8.5") and Zach threw a mark of 9.11 meters (29' 10.75"). In the High Jump, Zach cleared 1.52 meters (4' 11.75") and Santi cleared 1.43 meters (4' 8.25"). Santi set a personal best in the 400, running a time of 52.34 seconds and Zach, unfortunately, wasn't able to compete due to a injury. 

Long Jump

Eliza Cardwell placed third in the Long Jump, jumping 5.53 meters (18' 1.75")! In the Men's Long Jump, Adrian Friedman placed seventh with a jump of 6.77 meters (22' 2.5"). 

Javelin

Morgan Rome placed 13th, throwing a mark of 35.51 meters (116' 6") and Carolina Andrade placed 13th with a throw of 34.20 meters (112' 2"). 

In the midst of competing in the Decathlon, Santi Benbow placed 19th with a throw of 50.91 meters (167' 0")! Kevin Ryu placed 21st with a throw of 48.47 meters (159' 0"), his second best throw of the season! 

Hammer

Charlie Spurrell placed sixth in the Hammer Throw with a season best throw of 53.19 meters (174' 6")!

10,000

Allison Lounsbury ran a well executed race in the 10,000, setting off on her own pace and held it well throughout the race to place fifth in a season best time of 37:52!

Pole Vault

Jordan Hecker placed 21st in the Pole Vault, clearing 3.08 meters (10' 1.25"), on her third attempt! 

100 Hurdles Prelims

Eliza Cardwell won her preliminary heat of the 100 Hurdles, running a time of 14.42 seconds, the second fastest time of the day!

Day 2

Decathlon

The first event of Day 2 of the Decathlon is the 110 Hurdles, where Santi Benbow ran a personal best time of 17.98 seconds! Next, he threw a mark of 22.56 meters (74' 0") in the Discus, cleared 3.12 meters (10' 2.75") in the Pole Vault, and thew a mark of 50.01 meters (164' 1") in the Javelin. In the final event, he ran a time of 4:49 in the 1,500. With the final points tallied up, Santi placed 10th with a personal best score of 4922 points!

Next on the track for the Mammoths was the 1,500 and first up were the men. Stan Craig used a strong kick to place fifth in a personal best time of 3:55! Henry Dennen was right behind him in sixth place, also running a time of 3:55! Aidan Gemme placed seventh in a personal best time of 3:56! George Cahill placed 13th in a personal best time of 3:59!

The Women's 1,500 got out at a very fast pace and Piper Lentz and Bella Lozier handled it well, competing every step of the way. Piper placed tenth overall in a personal best time of 4:44 and Bella placed 13th overall in a time of 4:46!

100 Hurdles Final

Eliza Cardwell returned to the track on Saturday and placed second in the 100 Hurdles, running a time of 14.43 seconds!

Next on the track was the 400, where Casie Eifrig placed ninth overall in a time of 58.59 seconds! Christa Prasertsintanah placed second in her heat and 19th overall in a time of 59.49 seconds! Halle Hanna placed eighth in the same heat in a time of 1:03.

In the Men's 800, Ben Davis placed seventh in a time of 1:52! Kolya Markov-Riss placed ninth in a time of 1:54 and Will Nagy placed third in his heat and 16th in a time of 1:55.

In the Women's 800, Zoë Marcus ran a fantastic race, competing hard the whole way to place third in a personal best time of 2:10! Zoë's time is 2nd All-Time at Amherst in the event! Competing in the same heat, Julia Schor placed fifth in a time of 2:13! Ava Zielinski competed in the second heat and ran a well-executed race, placing fifth and 13th overall in a time of 2:19!

400 Hurdles

Myeh Medina ran another fantastic race in the 400 Hurdles, running a personal best time of 1:02!

Cody Pierce placed fifth in the 200 in a time of 21.97 seconds!

3,000 Steeplechase

Ian Dopp placed second in the 3,000 Steeplechase, running a competitive race and crossing the finish line in a time of 9:20! Harrison Talcott competed well and placed eighth in a time of 9:37!

Emma Ramsingh enjoyed a fantastic day in the Discus, placing third with a School Record and Personal Best throw of 47.08 meters (154' 5")!

In the Men's Discus, David Brown placed sixth with a throw of 45.11 meters (148' 0")! Jacob Shine placed 11th, throwing a personal best throw of 42.71 meters (140' 1")!

High Jump

Gabe Dos Santos placed sixth in the High Jump, clearing 1.94 meters (6' 4.25")! Jacob Shine placed 11th with a personal best throw of 42.71 meters (140' 1")!
