Sixth Form Politics and History Trip
On Friday 7th February, Sixth Form Politics and History students visited Parliament in Westminster. This was a wonderful opportunity to take a tour of the parliament buildings and experience some of the inner workings of government and democratic processes. We were able to visit the House of Commons, learn lots about its history, and watch the House of Lords in session, debating legislation. After this, our students took part in an interactive workshop involving policy making in teams. As an added touch, our tour guide, Emma, was an ex-Kent College student, who has worked in parliament for 25 years and specifically asked to take our group when she saw that Kent College was visiting!
All the students involved were fantastic and it was a really informative and enjoyable day.
Music Tour to Normandy
On Thursday, Music students set off for a tour of Normandy, which involves choir and orchestra performances in a variety of venues including schools, stately homes and even a chateau!
The first day involved a choir performance to an English class in a local school followed by a Q&A session. Over lunch together, the students made new friendships, even across the language barrier. It has been a wonderful start to the trip and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the trip brings!

Gymnastics
Our gymnastics captain Darcey competed her last competition before half term in the Floor and Vault at the Kent Championships. She placed second overall, first on Vault and third on Floor. She had some big new tumbles in her routine which were very impressive! Darcey has been part of the school gymnastics team and Gym Academy since Nursery but is now going to focus on her exams. Good luck Darcey!
