NEWEST SINGLE

REGRETS

___

A fun but bittersweet slice of Nottingham independent rock from a group which is establishing a distinctive sound and vibe. Rapid guitars and intense vocals sit at the core of the song, with frequent embellishments adding spice and rhythmic heat. - Phil Taylor (Music Observer Blog)
Returning with their first single of 2026, Blu Syrup re-enter the scene with ‘REGRETS’, a vibrant and infectious pop-punk track that grabs attention from the outset. It carries a distinctly modern take on the classic Paramore sound, reminiscent of what Hayley Williams and co might create if ‘RIOT!’ were released today. The energy feels tailor-made for a live setting, making this one to watch closely. - The Notts Review

THE WATERS

___

Blu Syrup are making their mark - so it seems that 'The Waters' is just the beginning. With pounding drums, sharp riffs, and chant-worthy hooks, it's a crowd-pleaser made for the stage. - Gemma Cockrell (The Notts Review)
'Certain to coax a burst of nostalgia for the mid-00s alt-rock scene from anyone who used snippets of song lyrics in their MSN bios, The Waters is a brilliantly constructed few minutes of music. Blu Syrup have shown previously that they have an ear for melody and this track is no different. Scratched guitar and propulsive bass help build the tension through the verses before the vocals soar, wrapping the catharsis in a memorable hook. Insistent and impossibly catchy, this is an almost guaranteed earworm and manna from heaven for anyone yearning for an expansive slice of heartfelt rock.' - Kieran Lister (Leftlion)

EMPTY PROMISES

___

‘Empty Promises’ is a jagged, languidly energetic, garagey track which flows neatly for just over three minutes, rising and falling on waves of electric guitar. - Phil Taylor (Music Observer Blog)
Technically proficient, featuring interesting instrumentation…the structure is strong, with a clear and compelling message…rich in texture, with each musical element thoughtfully placed to enhance the song's overall impact. The guitar riff brings great energy while the catchy chorus and well-executed pre-chorus create a natural and satisfying progression. - Claire Dyer (Nottingham Music Service), Joe Patten (DHP Group), Tommy Farmyard (The Hustle Collective) for the East Midlands Young Creatives Awards 2025
