Wythnos Ysbrydoli / Inspiration Week
Fel rhan o'n hwythnos ysbrydoliaeth, ymwelsom â Rheilffordd Gwili lle teithiom ar drên stêm. Roedd yn hyfryd! Dysgon ni am sut roedd y post yn cael ei ddosbarthu gan ddefnyddio'r rheilffordd a sut mae trafnidiaeth rheilffordd wedi newid dros y blynyddoedd. / As part of our inspiration week, we visited Gwili Railway where we travelled on a steam train. It was wonderful! We learnt about how the post was delivered using the railway and how rail transport has changed over the years.
Blwyddyn 3 wedi mwynhau teithio ar yr hen drên stêm. Cafwyd y profiad o aros am y trên yn y swyddfa docynnau bach a gweld yr hen gesys. Dysgwyd am sut mae trenau wedi datblygu dros y blynyddoedd. / Year 3 have enjoyed travelling on the old steam train. They had the experience of waiting for the train in the little ticket office and seeing the old suitcases. They learned about how trains have developed over the years.

Diwrnod Roald Dahl
Ar gyfer Diwrnod Roald Dahl fe wnaethon ni wisgo fel ein hoff gymeriad llyfr. Fe wnaethon ni gwblhau llawer o weithgareddau hwyliog yn ymwneud â Roald Dahl a'i lyfrau. / For Roald Dahl Day we dressed up as our favourite book character. We completed many fun activities regarding Roald Dahl and his books.
Diwrnod Shwmae
I ddathlu Diwrnod Shwmae fe wnaethon ni i gyd wisgo coch. / To celebrate Shwmae Day we all wore red.
Ymweld â Llyfrgell Penlan / Visiting Penlan Library
Yn ystod yr hanner tymor hwn rydym wedi ymweld â'r llyfrgell lle rydym wedi gwrando ar wahanol straeon sy'n gysylltiedig naill ai â'n thema neu â gwahanol awduron. / During this half term we have visited the library where we have listened to various stories associated with either our theme or different authors.

Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg / Science and Technology
Fel rhan o'n harbrawf gwyddonol ym Mlwyddyn 2, roedd yn rhaid i ni weld a fyddai wyneb y ramp yn effeithio ar ba mor bell y byddai'r car yn teithio i lawr y ramp. Roedd ein rhagfynegiadau'n gywir, teithiodd y car bellaf ar yr wyneb pren llyfn. / As part of our scientific experiment in Year 2, we had to see whether the surface of the ramp would effect how far the car would travel down the ramp. Our predictions were correct, the car travelled furthest on the smooth wood surface.
Blwyddyn 3
Yr ymchwiliad gwyddonol y tymor hwn oedd yn ymwneud â grymoedd ac onglau. Eu cwestiwn ymchwilio oedd: A yw ongl ramp yn effeithio ar ba mor bell fydd car yn teithio? Roedd y rhan fwyaf o’u rhagfynegiadau yn anghywir, a phrofwyd mai ongl rhwng 30° a 50° oedd orau. / This term’s science investigation was all about forces and angles. Their investigation question was: Does the angle of a ramp affect how far a car will travel? Most of their predictions were incorrect, and it was proven that an angle between 30° and 50° was best.
Prosiect Dylunio a Thechnoleg Blwyddyn 3
Cafodd Blwyddyn 3 y cyfle i ddylunio, creu a gwerthu cynnyrch fel rhan o’r prosiect cyffrous hwn. Roedd y broses yn cynnwys defnyddio llif chomp, a oedd pawb yn ei fwynhau er ei fod yn heriol. Da iawn Blwyddyn 3! / Year 3 were given the opportunity to design, create and sell a product as part of this exciting project. The process involved using a chomp saw, which everyone enjoyed but found challenging. Well done Year 3!

Dyniaethau / Humanities
Mae’r plant wedi mwynhau dysgu am y pwll glo lleol sef Mynydd Newydd y tymor hwn. Maent wedi cael profiadau eang ac amrywiol: cyfleoedd i ddysgu am sut mae glo yn cael ei ffurfio, creu bas data am drychinebau erchyll yn y pyllau glo lleol, archwilio hanesion personol glowyr a’u teuluoedd, ac edrych ar arteffactau a ffotograffau hanesyddol. Bu iddynt gymharu bywyd glowyr gyda bywyd plant heddiw, trafod effaith y diwydiant ar gymunedau lleol, a chreu gwaith celf a barddoniaeth wedi’i ysbrydoli gan fywydau’r glowyr. / The children have enjoyed learning about Mynydd Newydd, the local coal mine, this term. They have had a wide and varied range of experiences: opportunities to learn about how coal is formed, create a database of horrific disasters in the local coal mines, explore personal stories of miners and their families, and examine historical artefacts and photographs. They compared the lives of miners with the lives of children today, discussed the impact of the industry on local communities, and produced artwork and poetry inspired by the miners’ experiences.
Podlediad Ysgol / School Podcast
Mae’r disgyblion wedi cael profiad cyffrous drwy greu podlediad gyda Marc Griffiths am yr ardal leol. Yn ystod y prosiect, bu iddynt ymchwilio i hanes a nodweddion eu cymuned, paratoi sgript a thrafod syniadau, cyn recordio eu lleisiau. Roedd y podlediad yn gyfle i ddatblygu sgiliau cyfathrebu, gweithio mewn tîm, a defnyddio technoleg mewn ffordd greadigol ac ystyrlon. / The pupils have enjoyed an exciting experience by creating a podcast with Marc Griffiths about the local area. As part of the project, they researched the history and features of their community, prepared a script. before recording their voices. The podcast gave them the opportunity to develop communication skills, teamwork, and to use technology in a creative and meaningful way.

Yn ystod y tymor hwn, mae’r disgyblion wedi cymryd rhan mewn amrywiaeth o weithgareddau iaith a llythrennedd sy’n datblygu eu sgiliau ysgrifennu, darllen a siarad. Yn Gymraeg, buont yn ysgrifennu erthygl papur newydd am drychineb Aberfan, gan ddysgu sut i adrodd ffeithiau mewn arddull ffurfiol, ac yn dwyn i gof eu hymweliad â Big Pig drwy greu adroddiadau a thestunau adlewyrchol. Yn Saesneg, cynhaliwyd drafodaeth ar goed Nadolig, gan annog mynegi barn a defnyddio iaith berswadiol, yn ogystal â debat ar y cwestiwn “Would you rather go to school or go to work?”, a roddodd gyfle i drafod safbwyntiau gwahanol a datblygu sgiliau dadlau. / This term, pupils have taken part in a wide range of literacy and language activities. In Welsh, they wrote a newspaper article about the Aberfan disaster, developing their skills in reporting facts and presenting information formally, and they also recalled their visit to Big Pig through reflective writing. In English, they engaged in lively debates, including “Are artificial Christmas trees better for the environment than real Christmas Trees?” and “Would you rather go to school or go to work?”, which encouraged them to express opinions, listen to different viewpoints, and use persuasive language effectively.

Mae disgyblion Blwyddyn 6 wedi derbyn sesiwn addysgiadol gan PC George am gadw’n ddiogel ar-lein. Yn ystod y sesiwn, dysgon nhw am bwysigrwydd diogelu gwybodaeth bersonol, sut i adnabod sefyllfaoedd peryglus ar y we, a’r camau ymarferol y gallant eu cymryd i sicrhau eu bod yn defnyddio’r rhyngrwyd yn gyfrifol ac yn ddiogel. / Year 6 pupils have taken part in an educational session with PC George about staying safe online. During the session, they learned about the importance of protecting personal information, how to recognise dangerous situations on the internet, and practical steps they can take to ensure they use the web responsibly and safely.
Sioe Nadolig / Christmas Show
Eleni, bu i’r disgyblion berfformio’r sioe Nadolig “Y Dyn Blin”, sef addasiad creadigol ar stori glasurol Scrooge. Roedd y cynhyrchiad yn llawn hiwmor, cerddoriaeth a neges bwerus am dosturi a chyfeillgarwch. Bu’r plant yn dangos eu doniau actio, canu a dawnsio, gan greu awyrgylch arbennig o Nadoligaidd a chodi calon pawb a ddaeth i’w gweld. / This year, pupils performed the Christmas show “Y Dyn Blin”, a creative adaptation of the classic Scrooge story. The production was full of humour, music, and a powerful message about kindness and friendship. The children showcased their talents in acting, singing, and dancing, creating a festive atmosphere that lifted the spirits of everyone who came to watch.
Y Pantomeim / The Pantomime
Mae’r plant wedi mwynhau pantomeim Aladin yn fawr iawn y tymor hwn. Roedd y sioe yn llawn hiwmor, cerddoriaeth a chymeriadau lliwgar, gan greu awyrgylch hudolus o Nadolig. Cafodd y disgyblion gyfle i chwerthin, canu gyda’r perfformwyr ac ymgolli yn y stori glasurol, gan wneud profiad cofiadwy i bawb. / The children thoroughly enjoyed the Aladdin pantomime this term. The show was full of humour, music, and colourful characters, creating a magical festive atmosphere. Pupils had the chance to laugh, sing along with the performers, and immerse themselves in the classic story, making it a memorable experience for all.

Criw o ddisgyblion ydym ni sydd wedi cael eu hethol gan ein cyd-ddisgyblion i gynrychioli eu llais yn ystod cyfarfodydd ysgol. Rydym yn cwrdd bob hanner tymor i drafod gwahanol ffyrdd o wella lles yr ysgol. Mae ein cyngor enfys yn cynrychioli barn ein holl ddisgyblion ac mae'n rhoi'r cyfle i ni deimlo ein bod yn cael ein clywed ac i fod yn rhan o gymuned yr ysgol gyfan. Yr hanner tymor hwn fe wnaethon ni gymryd rhan yng ngwasanaeth wythnos gwrth-fwlio a rhannu pwysigrwydd caredigrwydd. / We are a crew of pupils that have been elected by our class mates to represent their voice during school meetings. We meet every half term to discuss different ways of improving the school's well-being. Our rainbow council represents the views of all our pupils and it gives us the opportunity to feel heard and to be a part of the whole school community. This half term we took part in the anti-bullying week assembly and sharing the importance of kindness.

Eleni rydym yn ffocysu ar gwella amgylchedd yr ysgol ar gyfer ein cyfoedion. / We are a crew of pupils that have been elected by our class mates to represent their voice during school meetings. We meet every half term to discuss different ways of improving the school internally, externally and educationally. Our school council represents the views of all our pupils and it gives us the opportunity to feel heard and to be a part of the whole school community. This year we will be focusing on improving the school environment for our peers.
