Bristol's new wave dancefloor instrumentalists are fresh off the release of their new album 'Ruins Everything' released on Worm Discs. Snazzback's music is a collage, collectively constructed, torn up and glued back together in unexpected ways.
"Snazzback...Great! There's been so much talk about the London jazz scene but there's ALOT going on in Bristol"- Gilles Peterson (BBC 6Music)

Snazzback bring a renewed, daring energy to UK dance music. The 7-piece embrace their experimental beginnings to create a sound fusing abstract beats with spiralling improvisation. Their music is soaked in influences including interlocking West African rhythms, rootsy Brazilian flavours, sprawling soundscapes, deep dubstep basslines and flickering arpeggiators. A collaborative instinct runs through the group, and an eclectic choice of vocalists keeps their compositions shimmering with new possibility.
Snazzback’s electrifying chemistry has wowed audiences at Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Cafe and Band On The Wall. A recent highlight was a collaboration with genre-defining MCs General Levy and Flowdan that lit up the Hennesy tent at We Out Here. 2023 has been a stellar year for the group that featured performances on Shambala's main stage and an electric closing set with Flowdan at Glastonbury. Snazzback have garnered support from BBC radio heavyweights, being championed by Jamz Supernova and featured as her Future Sound this summer and have been supported by Gilles Peterson and Jamie Cullum across multiple records.

“An explosive sense of energy...buzzing and fizzing with fresh ideas” - Clash Magazine
In the creation of their new album 'Ruins Everything' the collective reflects on turbulent times, the title itself is a nod to seismic shifts that are a recent memory for everyone. But in a much broader sense the album is a reflection on new beginnings, of rising from the ashes of what was and to have the courage to create what is. It is a step into the unknown and a revelling in the joy of what is to come.
In this spirit the record sees the outfit explore bold new sounds, weaving together junglist euphoria with introspective soundscapes and evocative wordplay from their featured guests. Recorded at Play Pen Studios with Patrick Phillips and mastered by Shawn Joseph ( J Dilla, Portishead, Pete Rock, Roy Ayers) 'Ruins Everything' steps into a new spaces.
