At CBR, we believe in the power of education, fostering 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and effective communication. These skills are embedded in our DNA and nurtured throughout our educational program. Through interdisciplinary projects, students explore key societal issues aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda. En el CBR creemos en el poder de la educación, impulsando habilidades del siglo XXI como el pensamiento crítico, la creatividad, la colaboración y una comunicación efectiva. Estas competencias, integradas en nuestro ADN, se desarrollan en todas las etapas del programa educativo y a través de proyectos interdisciplinarios. Además, nuestros estudiantes exploran temas clave para la sociedad enmarcados en los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y la agenda 2030.
We not only acquire academic knowledge but also developed the ability to analyze our environment, make responsible decisions, and propose solutions with real impact. Education becomes a meaningful experience that connects knowledge with life. No solo adquirimos conocimientos académicos, sino que desarrollamos la capacidad de analizar nuestro entorno, tomar decisiones responsables y proponer soluciones con impacto real. Middle School Projects
Middle school builds on skills from elementary, emphasizing engineering practices and interdisciplinary problem-solving. Arts and ICT enhance soft skills such as creativity, adaptability, and time management. Guided by a team of teachers, students expand their knowledge through inquiry, learning from mistakes, planning, designing, and testing ideas.
5th Grade - Applying Healthy Habits for a Happy Brain
- Focus: Communication, emotions, and healthy habits as the foundation of well-being.
In this project, we explored how the brain works and how biological systems relate to emotional regulation. Through surveys, data analysis, and experimental activities, we examined how daily habits influence learning, relationships, and mental well-being. This process enabled us to develop strategies that support healthy relationships and positive learning environments. En este proyecto exploramos el funcionamiento del cerebro y los sistemas biológicos relacionados con la regulación emocional. A través de encuestas, análisis de datos y actividades experimentales, comprendimos cómo los hábitos diarios influyen en el aprendizaje, la convivencia y la salud mental. Este proceso nos permitió construir estrategias para fortalecer relaciones saludables y ambientes positivos de aprendizaje.

A Happy Brain Learns Better: We learned that our brain has parts that help us control our emotions. We talked about habits that make us feel good, such as sleeping well, breathing calmly, and talking when we feel sad. We did science, math, and technology activities to understand how to take better care of ourselves. Un cerebro feliz aprende mejor: Nos enseñaron que nuestro cerebro tiene partes que ayudan a controlar las emociones. Hablamos de hábitos que nos hacen sentir bien, como dormir bien, respirar y hablar cuando estamos tristes. Hicimos actividades de ciencias, matemáticas y tecnología para entender cómo cuidarnos mejor.
6th Grade — Goods and Services for Peace: Building a Safer and Fairer World
Focus: Natural and human systems, social justice, peace, and institutions.
Enfoque: Sistemas naturales y humanos, justicia social, paz e instituciones.
In this project, we analyzed the relationship between natural and social systems, exploring how resources, goods, and services influence equity and coexistence. Through the study of ancient civilizations and the use of mathematical tools, we reflected on access to resources and on the construction of fairer and more peaceful societies.
En este proyecto analizamos la relación entre los sistemas naturales y sociales, comprendiendo cómo los recursos, bienes y servicios influyen en la equidad y la convivencia. A partir del estudio de civilizaciones antiguas y del uso de herramientas matemáticas, reflexionamos sobre el acceso a los recursos y la construcción de sociedades más justas y pacíficas.

- Study historical contributions of ancient civilizations.
- Understand inequality and access to resources through mathematical tools.

Building Peace by Understanding the World: We learned that everything on the planet is connected: rivers, animals, people, and even countries. We saw how natural and social systems work, and how our actions can help create more peace and justice. We worked on projects about goods and services to improve communities.
7th Grade — Technology and Sustainability in Colombia: The Path to a Green Future?
Focus: Technological innovation and creativity for sustainable communities.
Enfoque: Innovación tecnológica y creatividad para comunidades sostenibles.
We investigated current environmental challenges and explored how technology can contribute to sustainable solutions in the Colombian context. Through collaborative work, we organized scientific information, designed proposals, and developed ideas focused on sustainability and environmental care. Investigamos problemáticas ambientales actuales y exploramos cómo la tecnología puede contribuir a soluciones sostenibles en el contexto colombiano. Mediante el trabajo colaborativo, organizamos información científica, diseñamos propuestas y desarrollamos ideas orientadas a la sostenibilidad y al cuidado del entorno.

Sustainability for a Better Future: We researched how technology can help our planet. We worked in teams to invent ideas to make Colombia greener, like more efficient houses or new ways to recycle. We felt like scientists looking for real solutions.
8th Grade — Clean Power, Strong Communities
Focus: Clean energy and its impact on community quality of life.
Enfoque: Energía limpia y su impacto en la calidad de vida comunitaria.
In this project, we understood access to energy as a key factor for social development. We studied sustainable energy sources and designed models and prototypes that responded to real needs in Colombian communities, integrating science, engineering, and social thinking. En este proyecto comprendimos el acceso a la energía como un factor clave para el desarrollo social. Estudiamos fuentes de energía sostenible y diseñamos modelos y prototipos que respondieran a necesidades reales de comunidades colombianas, integrando ciencia, ingeniería y pensamiento social.

Clean Energy for Happier Communities: We asked ourselves: what happens when a town has no electricity or it’s too expensive? We studied how solar energy and other clean energy sources can improve people’s lives. We designed prototypes to help Colombian communities and understood that science can change lives.
HIGH SCHOOL PROJECTS
In high school, projects become more specific, showcasing students' mastery of concepts and Higher-Order Thinking skills like creating and evaluating. Subjects remain integrated, enriching explanations of phenomena, while technology plays a key role in advancing engineering processes and enhancing project complexity.
9th - Technology With Purpose: Adolescents Facing Inequality in Colombia
Focus: Technology, adolescence, and socioeconomic inequality.
Enfoque: Tecnología, adolescencia y desigualdad socioeconómica.
We reflected on the role of technology in contexts of inequality, analyzing real cases and proposing ethical technological solutions aimed at social well-being. This project strengthened our critical perspective regarding the digital environment and its social implications. Reflexionamos sobre el papel de la tecnología en contextos de desigualdad, analizando casos reales y proponiendo soluciones éticas y tecnológicas orientadas al bienestar social. Este proyecto fortaleció nuestra mirada crítica frente al entorno digital y sus implicaciones sociales.

Technology With Purpose: We saw that in Colombia not everyone has the same opportunities, and that technology can help… but it can also make inequality worse. We analyzed real cases, researched, and proposed ideas so that technology can be fair and useful for everyone.
10th - The Power and Responsibility of Technology
Focus: Science, technology, and human quality of life.
Enfoque: Ciencia, tecnología y calidad de vida humana.
We analyzed how technology impacts physical, emotional, and social health, recognizing both its benefits and risks. This project allowed us to reflect on responsible decision-making and ethical technology use in everyday life. Analizamos cómo la tecnología impacta la salud física, emocional y social, reconociendo tanto sus beneficios como sus riesgos. Este proyecto nos permitió reflexionar sobre la toma de decisiones responsables y el uso ético de la tecnología en la vida cotidiana.

The Power and Responsibility of Technology: We learned that technology can improve our health, our emotions, and our lives, but that we must also use it responsibly. We talked about ethics, difficult decisions, and the balance between what we want and what is good for everyone.
11th - A Colombian Odyssey
Focus: Socio-environmental challenges analyzed through human archetypes and critical thinking.
Enfoque: Problemas socioambientales analizados desde arquetipos humanos y pensamiento crítico.
Through the integration of social sciences, humanities, and environmental analysis, we interpreted current challenges from different human perspectives. This project strengthened our critical thinking, comparison skills, and a deeper understanding of the Colombian context. A través de la integración entre ciencias sociales, humanidades y análisis ambiental, interpretamos problemáticas actuales desde distintas perspectivas humanas. Este proyecto fortaleció nuestro pensamiento crítico, la comparación y la comprensión profunda del contexto colombiano.

- Develop higher-order thinking skills (analysis and comparison).
- Interpret environmental challenges from human perspectives.
- Integrate social sciences and humanities to understand the environment.

A Colombian Odyssey: We studied environmental problems as if we were heroes in a story. We discovered that each person has an archetype (like protector, creator, wise...) and that this changes the way we see the world. We investigated real cases and wrote about how we can help the planet.
12th - Interdisciplinary Cultural Digital Magazine
Focus: Production of an interdisciplinary digital magazine.
Enfoque: Producción de una revista digital interdisciplinaria.
As a culminating project, we designed and produced a digital magazine integrating Language Arts, Mathematics, ICT, Social Studies, and Chemistry. The process included academic writing, interdisciplinary analysis, multimedia production, and responsible use of artificial intelligence tools, consolidating our research and communication skills. Como proyecto de cierre, diseñamos y produjimos una revista digital integrando Lenguaje, Matemáticas, ICT, Ciencias Sociales y Química. El proceso incluyó escritura académica, análisis interdisciplinario, producción multimedia y uso responsable de herramientas de inteligencia artificial, consolidando nuestras habilidades investigativas y comunicativas.
Learning purposes:
- Write essays and produce multimedia content.
- Analyze works from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
- Present a coherent, functional, and academically supported final product.

Our Culture Matters: We created a digital magazine where we mixed art, science, math, and philosophy to understand how stories, beliefs, and science talk to each other. We discovered that what we think about the world depends on our culture, and that we can create new things based on who we are.
Presentación Cultural
In every grade, we learned that we can change the world. We discovered that science, technology, and ideas can help others. We learned to ask questions, to work as a team, and to look for real solutions to real problems. We understood that our emotions, our decisions, and our culture are also part of learning. And that even though we are children and young people, our ideas have power. En todos los grados aprendimos que podemos cambiar el mundo. Descubrimos que la ciencia, la tecnología y las ideas sirven para ayudar a otros. Aprendimos a hacer preguntas, a trabajar en equipo y a buscar soluciones reales para problemas reales. Entendimos que nuestras emociones, nuestras decisiones y nuestra cultura también hacen parte del aprendizaje. Y que, aunque seamos niños y jóvenes, nuestras ideas tienen poder.
En Tyquy, creemos que el cuidado es la base que nos conecta y nos transforma. “Inteligencia emocional en acción” nos invitó a reconocer que cuidar también es una práctica cultural: se aprende, se fortalece y se comparte. Apostamos por fortalecer habilidades de afrontamiento y redes de apoyo social, porque cuando aprendemos a gestionar nuestras emociones y acompañarnos mutuamente, construimos comunidades más conscientes y resilientes.
