Landmark Conference 2025 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship

2024 RECAP

Catholic University captured its first Landmark Conference women’s outdoor track & field championship with a dominant all-around performance, tallying 174 points to hold off Moravian University and pre-meet favorite Susquehanna University.

Brigid Byrnes was named Rookie of the Year after winning the 400 hurdles in a championship-record time of 1:03.71 and adding a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles. She was one of three individual champions for the Cardinals, joined by Kate Inglis (steeplechase) and Anna Scoblick (high jump).

Inglis led a 1-2 finish in the steeple and placed third in the 5,000, while Scoblick, also a basketball standout, claimed her first track & field gold after finishing second in 2023.

The 4x400 relay team of Clare Marsh, Mia McConnell, Sabrina Beniquez, and Emily Moehringer sealed the title in style, winning by over seven seconds and setting a new Landmark Championship record at 3:59.35.

Moehringer also finished third in a thrilling 800-meter race where the top three runners broke the meet record. Catholic placed three runners in the top five of that race and the 400 as well, highlighting its depth.

Head coach Steve Rahn and staff were named Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Cardinals to a 62-point improvement from their 2023 total.

CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY

  • Head Coach: Steve Rahn (7th Season)
  • Team Titles: 1 (2024)
  • 2025 Projected Finish: 2nd

After totaling 112 points in 2023 for the program’s highest finish since 2013, Catholic broke through to win its first-ever Landmark women’s outdoor track & field title in 2024, racking up 174 points to edge past Moravian and pre-championship favorite Susquehanna. The Cardinals now look to defend their crown with a strong group of returners ready to make another run at the top.

Catholic brings back several all-conference performers, including Brigid Byrnes (400m hurdles), Kate Inglis (3,000m steeplechase), and Anna Scoblick (high jump), as well as members of the 4x400-meter relay team that set a Landmark Championship record last year (3:59.35). That relay squad features three returners and a new look this spring—Clare Marsh, Mia McConnell, Zoey Brown, and Byrnes—who already lowered the conference record to 3:57.12 in early April.

Kate Inglis added her name to the record books individually as well, setting the new Landmark standard in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:49.69. Emily Moehringer, who was a second-team All-American during the indoor season in the 800 meters, will be another one to watch as the Cardinals gear up for a repeat bid.

DREW UNIVERSITY

  • Head Coach: Sean Robinson (2nd Season)
  • Team Titles: 0
  • 2025 Projected Finish: 8th

In just its second year as a varsity program, the Drew University women’s outdoor track & field team continues to make headlines. Emily Camlet, a 2024 second-team selection in the 400 meters and honorable mention in the 200 meters, has taken her speed to another level this spring. At Moravian’s Coach Pollard Invitational, she broke the Landmark Conference 400-meter dash record with a time of 56.57 seconds, surpassing the mark set by Susquehanna’s Sara Arbogast in 2016. Camlet was also the 2024 indoor champion in the event, setting a meet record with a 57.87, and qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

In the field events, all eyes are on Sage Hendershot. The 2024 NCAA Indoor Qualifier in the long jump earned second-team All-America honors after placing 16th in her first national appearance. She set both the indoor league and championship records this winter—and kept it rolling outdoors, recently breaking the Landmark long jump record with a leap of 5.92 meters, eclipsing the 2023 mark of 5.89 held by Susquehanna’s Remi Acord.

ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE

  • Head Coach: Brian Falk (14th Season)
  • Team Titles: 0
  • 2025 Projected Finish: 5th

Elizabethtown returns several key contributors from last year’s championship, including first-teamers Kelty Oaster (800m) and Mylea Neidig (shot put), along with second-team honoree DaniRae Renno (discus). Oaster has been on a record-breaking tear this spring—she set new Landmark Conference records in both the 1,500-meter and 800-meter runs. Her 4:27.92 in the 1,500 made her the first female in program and league history to break the 4:30 barrier. She followed that with a blazing 2:07.19 in the 800 meters, which ranks third nationally in Division III. Oaster, who won the indoor national title in the 800 meters, continues to be a force across both middle-distance events.

In the field, Neidig is back after earning all-conference honors in both shot put and discus, while first-year thrower Isabella Cowger made an immediate impact—breaking the school and conference discus record with a throw of 43.57 meters, surpassing a mark that had stood since 2010.

GOUCHER COLLEGE

  • Head Coach: Erick Camodeca (6th Season)
  • Team Titles: 0
  • 2025 Projected Team Finish: 6th

Goucher College enters the 2025 Landmark Outdoor Championships with a strong mix of experienced leadership and promising newcomers poised to contribute across multiple events.

Tanise Thornton-Fillyaw leads the way after another stellar indoor season. The junior qualified for her third straight NCAA Championship during the indoor campaign, where she earned first team All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters. This outdoor season, Thornton-Fillyaw has the fourth-fastest 800m time in all of Division III.

Joining her are two dynamic newcomers ready to challenge for titles. Nancy Nyadongo, a standout in the sprints, was named both the Landmark Indoor Track Performer and Rookie of the Year. She enters the championship meet with the fastest 200-meter time in the conference and ranks second in the 100, positioning herself to contend in both events. Aryanna Paulena, the Landmark Indoor Field Performer of the Year, is second in the triple jump and sits first in the pole vault—making her a serious threat in multiple field events.

JUNIATA COLLEGE

  • Head Coach: Jake Kaylor (2nd Season)
  • Team Titles: 0
  • 2025 Projected Team Finish: 7th

Juniata College is coming off its highest finish at the Landmark Outdoor Championships since 2020, placing sixth in 2024 and looking to climb even higher this spring behind a versatile core of returners.

Olivia Barbacci continues to be a standout for the Eagles, earning first team all-conference honors in the pole vault and honorable mention recognition in the 400-meter hurdles last season. The 2023 Rookie of the Year is poised to be a key contributor once again, entering the 2025 championships ranked second in the conference in the pole vault. She also ranks among the league's top-five in three track events - fourth in the 400 meter hurdles, fifth in both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes - making her a dual threat for Juniata.

Joining Barbacci in leading the charge are Rebecca Christophel, and Emma Coolidge, who owns the top javelin mark in the conference this spring.

MORAVIAN UNIVERSITY

  • Head Coach: Jesse Baumann (14th Season)
  • Team Titles: 14 (2008-19, 2021-22)
  • 2025 Projected Team Finish: 1st

Moravian University heads into the 2025 Landmark Outdoor Championships looking to build off the momentum of its indoor title and return to the top of the standings for the first time since 2020. The Greyhounds placed third at last year’s outdoor meet and return a strong group of all-conference performers ready to contend once again.

Abby Giamoni headlines the group after earning 2024 Track Performer of the Year honors. Giamoni captured first team all-conference accolades in both the 200 and 400 meters and contributed to honorable mention performances in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. She’ll once again be a key piece across multiple events for the Greyhounds.

Moravian also brings back distance standout Tara Smurla, who swept the 5,000 and 10,000 meters for first team honors, and thrower Margie Rayne, who won the discus. Caillie Fish earned second team recognition in the hammer throw, and Rachael Goodman collected honorable mention honors in the steeplechase. Ali Haefele returns after earning honorable mention honors in the triple jump and will look to boost the Greyhounds’ scoring in the jumps.

Across the track events, Moravian has 19 athletes ranked in the top 10, and in the field events, 22 Greyhounds sit among the conference’s top 10.

UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON

  • Head Coach: Jon Cutright (2nd Season)
  • Team Titles: 0
  • 2025 Projected Team Finish: 3rd

Since becoming a varsity program in 2018, the University of Scranton women’s outdoor track and field team has continued to climb the Landmark standings—highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2023 and a fourth-place showing last spring. With a strong core returning, the Royals are aiming to stay in the mix near the top.

Jocelyn Smith returns after a standout rookie season where she earned Rookie of the Year honors and picked up all-conference recognition in both the 100 and 200 meters. The Royals also bring back second team performers Emily Hopkins (5,000m), Samantha Sharrow (long jump), and Molly White (triple jump), along with their 4x400 relay squad of Tasia Miniotis, Olivia Miller, Sharrow, and Molly Smith.

SUSQUEHANNA UNIVERSITY

  • Head Coach: Ethan Senecal (7th Season)
  • Team Titles: 1 (2023)
  • 2025 Projected Team Finish: 3rd

Susquehanna returns a strong group of all-conference performers from last year’s outdoor championship, headlined by Chloe Yoder, Remi Acord, and Hannah Alderfer. Yoder, the 2023 100-meter hurdles champion, holds the Landmark Championship record in the event (14.25) and earned back-to-back All-America honors indoors after placing 11th in the 60-meter hurdles this winter. Alderfer had a breakout year as well, placing 10th in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships to earn second team All-America honors. Her 3,503 points set new school and conference records. She followed that performance outdoors by breaking the Landmark heptathlon record with 4,619 points.

The River Hawks also return Ashley Newman and Sarah Bower, who earned all-conference honors in the 4x100 relay and pole vault, respectively, along with Alison Sponseller, an honorable mention selection in the pole vault.
