The scene is set, as the Northeastern Huskies look to claim their third straight women's Beanpot championship and record 20th overall.

Northeastern takes the ice before the biggest 60 minutes of their season, eyeing for a chance at history.
Northeastern opened the scoring 11:29 into the first period, when graduate student Lily Yovetich stole a loose puck in the Terrier zone and fired a shot on net, where it took a deflection and found the upper left corner for a 1-0 advantage. It was her first goal of the season, with junior Kristina Allard and senior Tory Mariano providing the assists.
Freshman goaltender Lisa Jönsson continued her dominance in net, limiting opportunities for Boston University and making clutch saves, including an incredible double save with 4:45 to remain a goal ahead. The Huskies would keep a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The Huskies continued into the second period, playing physical on both ends of the rink. Both teams would search for the next goal, one that could prove to be massive going forward.
With just minutes remaining in the second period, Northeastern extended its lead to 2-0. After graduate student Jaden Bogden picked off a pass in the Terrier zone, she attacked and fired a shot on net, where it took a deflection and found the stick of senior Lily Shannon who cleaned it up into the top right corner, building the lead.
The Huskies responded less than a minute later with their third goal of the game. After providing an assist on the previous goal, Bogden collected a goal of her own after redirecting a shot from junior Jules Constantinople, making it 3-0 with 1:41 remaining in the period. Senior Skylar Irving provided the secondary assist.
Jönsson continued to come up big throughout the game, keeping the Terrier's from putting the puck in the net. She would finish with 30 saves, including a period-high 12 saves in the third.
After defending against the Boston University attack for a majority of the third period, Irving sealed Northeastern's victory with 2:45 remaining in the contest, scoring an empty net goal to make it 4-0. Bodgen and Mariano helped with the assists.
As the final buzzer sounded, the Huskies stormed the ice to celebrate, earning the Beanpot championship for a third year in a row!
Lisa Jönsson earned the Joe Bertagna Award for the best goaltender in the tournament and MVP honors after outstanding performances in the Beanpot semifinals and championship, recording 67 saves and a .971 save percentage.
