Mission: The goal of this Mission is to create images featuring professional or non-professional dancers showcasing diverse dance styles in motion.

Deliverables:

  • Upload between 400-600 images of one or more people per Mission submission.
  • Consider participating in the Video of a Dancers in Motion Mission by capturing images and video clips from the same shoot. We recommend focusing on one type of asset at a time rather than shooting both simultaneously.
  • Images submitted to Missions should NOT currently be in Adobe Stock.
  • Generative AI content is not accepted.
  • Model releases are required for this Mission.
  • Keywording and retouching are not required.
  • No need for metadata or post-processing.
  • You will receive the payment displayed in the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal for each approved Mission submission. Please note you will receive the total amount for each accepted Mission submission of 400-600 images.
  • Payment processing for accepted submissions can take up to 15 business days.
  • Submission deadline is June 10th, 2024.

Casting: We are open to seeing diverse people representing various ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual identities, body sizes, and physical abilities. Subjects can include professional dancers and everyday people moving their bodies and dancing.

  • You can submit up to 5 Missions, but each Mission submission should ideally feature different people.
  • If reusing the same people, ensure each Mission submission varies significantly in people's appearances (such as clothing changes) and locations to maximize submission variety.

Mission Guidance: Each Mission submission should capture the essence of each dancer from preparation to performance captured from various angles and perspectives.

  • A wide range of dance styles, including but not limited to classical ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, tap, salsa, ballroom, cultural dances, and experimental or fusion styles are welcome.
  • Avoid stationary camera positions where you set up your camera and don’t move it for the duration of the shoot.
  • Prioritize dynamic camera movement while you follow your dancer's actions so that each image tells a unique story with changing perspectives and motion.

An ideal submission should include around 400-600 images of your dancer’s balanced between these actions (all can be photographed in the same setting/location):

  1. Warm-up
  2. Practice
  3. Performance
  4. Partner Interaction (2+ Dancers)

Locations: Images can be taken in various locations (indoors and outdoors) where dance performances are commonly practiced, including dance studios, auditoriums, parks, streets/sidewalks or even at home. Pay attention to potential intellectual property (IP) issues such as logos, brand names, and advertisements on walls and buildings.

Clothing & Props: You can photograph your dancers wearing appropriate dance costumes or workout clothes if brand names or logos aren’t visible. Be cautious of visible logos or trademarks when using props complementing a dance performance. If branding is unavoidable, covering logos with matching-colored tape is acceptable.

Any Mission submissions with IP issues (e.g., logos and brand names on clothes and shoes) will be rejected during the moderation process and contributors won’t be compensated for such submissions.

Crop + Perspective: A variety of images is essential to your submission; leverage focal length, angles/heights and camera-to-subject distance to your advantage to produce the most varied dataset possible per Mission submission.

Similar Content: Avoid submitting lengthy series of near duplicates. It’s okay for a Mission submission to include a few series from the same scene, but only to a point. Missions with video clips that are too similar and repetitive will be rejected.

Please see this link for in-depth information about our tolerance for near-similar series content.

Title your Mission submission: [name of dancer(s)]- [age] - [gender] (optional) - [ethnicity] (optional).
