Election Day Experience in 3rd Grade

Casting Ballots for a Reward

Students in Mr. Gross’s 3rd grade class recently marked an attendance milestone with a unique classroom “Election Day.” With support from School Resource Officer Deputy Smith, students participated in a voting process similar to a real election.

Students showed ID cards, signed a voter log, and cast their ballots to choose a class reward. Options on the ballot included Extra Recess, Lunch Movie, and Stuffy Day. After ballots were counted and the results were certified by Deputy Smith, Extra Recess was the winner!

The activity gave students a memorable way to learn how elections work while celebrating their attendance as a class.
