Coach Ed Flaherty led the Huskies two NCAA Division III National Championships, eight NCAA Division III Regional Championships, 19 appearances in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship game, 26 NCAA tournament appearances, and six Little East Conference Championships from 1986-2024.
The USM Baseball program has consistently been one of the top in New England and has produced The team has also produced over 60 ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Americans plus two D3baseball.com National Players of the Year in Sam Dexter (USM ‘16) in 2015 and Tucker White (USM ‘13) in 2013.
The USM baseball program has earned over 100 All-Little East selections under Flaherty and has claimed over 30 major conference awards with Flaherty winning 11 LEC Coach of the Year awards. Five Huskies earned All-LEC honors for the 2025 season led by First Team selection Kyle Douin. Anthony Poole and Colin McDonald were Second Team picks while Peter Keblinsky and Mike Anquillare earned Third Team honors.
The most recent Huskies to earn All-American honors were Cam Seymour and Ben Lambert in 2021. Seymour was named a Second Team ABCA/Rawlings All-America while Lambert earned Third Team honors from D3baseball.com.
In 2023, the USM baseball team retired the number of Huskies' legend Vinnie Degifico, a 1996 Husky Hall of Fame inductee. In addition to an outstanding playing career Degifico had a storied career as an assistant baseball coach and ice arena manager at USM.
Coach Flaherty's #26 was retired in 2024 following the coach's retirement.
