0:00-00:15

Visual Description: Soft ukulele music and the sounds of children laughing is heard as the camera cuts between shots associated with elementary school recess. The shots consist of a hopscotch court, a child swinging, children running, a soccer ball being kicked into frame, and children playing on a play structure. Children are seen smiling and laughing. It is a bright sunny day at recess!

VO: Days spent at play are the best kinds of days! From moments spent running till your heart is content to laughing with friends, play truly is a portal to a world of fun!

0:15-0:20

Visual Description: The music begins to distort as the camera pans to a wide shot of a jump rope moving in slow-motion. The distinct sounds of jumping on asphalt is heard as the rope becomes even slower.

VO: But play isn't easy for everyone.

0:20-0:33

Visual Description: The music fades to silence. Birds chirping and sniffles are the only sounds heard. The shot cross-fades into a tight shot of a little girl by herself crying.

VO: Aniya is a little girl with ADHD who, like every kid, loves to play. But sometimes recess can be loud and hot, making Aniya uncomfortable. Additionally, the social pressures of playing while overstimulated leave Aniya feeling alone.

0:33-0:45

Visual Description: The upbeat ukulele music returns as the screen jump cuts to a bright pink graphic featuring three dolls. Their faces and outfits are obscured, but the audience can see some of their accessories. The graphic in bold text, reads Best to Be Me.

VO:Aniya isn't alone in her challenges with play. At Barbie, we strive to identify and address the obstacles that prevent children from reaching their full potential. The Best to Be Me collection is here to show children that play is for everyone!

0:45 - 1:00

Visual Description: The camera pans to show a girl opening a birthday present. The doll inside the box has noise-cancelling headphones, fidget bracelets, Augmented and Alternative Communication (AAC) cards, and sensory-friendly clothing made from bamboo fabric. We see the doll also comes with a book titled "Tracie’s Trip to the Fair"

VO: With sensory-friendly accessories designed from input by neurodivergent individuals and accompanying chapter books detailing the experiences of the dolls, The Best to Be Me collection provides neurodivergent children with positive role models that inspire conversations surrounding differing abilities!

1:00-1:05

Visual Description: The camera transitions to a wide angle shot of an elementary school. The ukulele music continues as the sounds of children screaming and little feet hitting the asphalt echo through the scene. The group of children excitedly run towards the play structure signifying recess.

1:05-1:15

Visual Description: The ukulele music continues, but it is softer and more distant. The camera focuses in on Aniya self-soothing under a tree on the playground. Ruth, the girl from the birthday present scene, runs up to Aniya holding up the dolls from the Best to be Me collection.

Ruth: "Do you want to play dolls with me?"

Aniya * tentatively nodding her head* "Yes."

1:15-1:25

Visual Description: The ukulele music returns at normal volume as the two little girls are seen in a quiet section of the playground, holding up the dolls, dressing them in the various accessories, and laughing with one another.

VO: Moments like this are what the Best to Be Me collection is all about! Friendships formed through inclusive play that incorporates opportunity to create a play space where everyone is accepted and everyone belongs.
