The Harrison County Board of Supervisors held their first monthly meeting on Monday, April 7th, in the First Judicial Courthouse in Gulfport. Their 2nd monthly was held on Monday, April 14th, in the Second Judicial Courthouse in Biloxi. A third meeting was held on April 25, 2025 at the First Judicial Courthouse, in Gulfport and a fourth meeting on April 30, 2025 at the First Judicial Courthouse in Gulfport. Harrison County Parks & Rec Director Bobby Trosclair & his team hid over 26,000 eggs for the over 2,500 kids at the six Easter Egg Hunt locations across the County on Saturday, April 9th! The egg hunts are free and open to the public!

The Harrison County District 2 Dog Park at the Fairgrounds is for dogs of all sizes and ages! The park is over 4 acres, making it one if the largest in the state. On Friday, April 25, 2025, we gathered at the Great Southern Club in Gulfport to honor our incredible Friends of Court (FOC) volunteers! πŸ’™ Since 2022, our 45 volunteers have advocated in 250 cases, supporting over 317 children and 14 vulnerable adults through the Harrison County Chancery Court. Their dedication ensures that every child and vulnerable adult receives the attention, care, and justice they deserve. πŸ‘ Thank you to all our volunteers for your compassion, time, and service. YOU are making a difference.

Honoring Heroes with The Wall That Heals

The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, recently journeyed across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Escorted with pride and reverence from Long Beach to D’Iberville, the solemn procession of vehicles became a powerful display of unity and remembrance. Residents lined the route, waving flags, holding signs, and offering heartfelt support in tribute to the brave men and women who served during the Vietnam War. πŸ•―οΈ The Wall That Heals was open to the public 24/7 from April 10–13.

Harrison County Beautification - Hazardous Waste Day event

To launch Earth Day celebrations, we proudly partnered with the City of D’Iberville during their annual Hazardous Waste Day event. Together, we promoted the importance of recycling, reducing, and reusingβ€”empowering our community to make environmentally conscious choices! The City of D’Iberville, in collaboration with Harrison County and local vendors, provided residents with a safe, convenient way to dispose of household hazardous wasteβ€”contributing to a cleaner, greener community. πŸ’š At the same time, Harrison County’s 2nd Saturday event at our Rockco McFarland Hazardous Waste Site saw great success, serving more than 150 residents from across the county! We’re incredibly proud of our community for stepping up and doing their part. Harrison County loves its residentsβ€”and the planet! πŸ’ͺ🌿

🌎 In honor of Earth Day from Harrison County! 🌳

The Harrison County Beautification and Sand Beach Department teamed up with our friends at Hancock Whitney for the second year in a row to promote a cleaner and greener community! Together, we planted several beautiful oak trees along Highway 90, making our coast not only greener but more beautiful for generations to come.

Harrison County Intervention Court Welcomes Guest Speaker

Intervention Court welcomes a guest speaker Sidney Smith, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who delivered a powerful message about his personal journey through addiction and his triumph over it. Joining him was retired Chief of Police Leonard Papania, adding a meaningful perspective to the discussion. Their visit left a lasting impact on the audience. Thank you!

Students from St. James Catholic Elementary School had a fabulous visit in April to the Harrison County Courthouse in Gulfport! They had the opportunity to explore several key departments, including: Emergency Management (EMA), Tax Collector, Tax Assessor, Board Room, Circuit Clerk , Chancery Courtroom, Behind the Courtrooms, Holding Cell and Justice Court. It was a fun and educational experience where students learned how local government worksβ€”and got to see it in action! A huge thank-you to everyone who welcomed and guided them throughout the day. πŸ‘

mosquitoes beware! harrison county mosquito control is out in full-force

The Harrison County Mosquito Control provides mosquito control to all populated areas of Harrison County. Licensed for drone use, HCMC conducts an ongoing mosquito-borne disease surveillance program. HCMC operates vehicle mounted spray units AT NIGHT during active mosquito season, which runs from April - September. AND..... did you know that HCMC will spray your area for SPECIAL EVENTS?
