Important 1:1 Laptop Information for the 2024-2025 School year below -

  • At the October School Board meeting, the Board voted to allow the Tech Department to seek bids for Chromebooks to be purchased for the 2024-2025 School year 1:1 Computer Program. Pending Board approval, all grades (5-8) at the middle school level will be provided a school-issued Chromebook for their day-to-day school work for the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Please do not purchase new laptops for your middle school student(s), of any grade, 5-8.

2024-2025 Scheduling Information

  • ZWMS counselors will continue to deliver course request instructions to all current 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade students in the upcoming weeks. Please look for counselor communication via Canvas, and reach out to your student’s grade level counselor if you have specific questions.
  • If you are moving out of district, or your student(s) will be transferring to a private school for 2024-2025, please contact Abby Akeright at ZWest (aakeright@zcs.k12.in.us).

Health Clinic Update

  • When dropping off medications or medical supplies to the Health Clinic, please check in at the Front Office. Clinic staff will be ready to assist you at the clinic window when available.
  • All medical forms are located on the ZCS website/Health Forms.
  • If you need to consult with the Health Clinic staff during the school day, please contact us at zwmnurse@zcs.k12.in.us.
  • Thank you for your patience during the school day.

PTO Highlights (Book Fair & Eagle Cash links)

  • We are hosting a food drive at the home wrestling match on Thursday, February 15. Parents and fans can bring a food donation in lieu of the gate fee. Please note that single-serve, easy-to-open items are best for our backpack program. Thank you!
  • PTO is looking for volunteers for the March Book Fair. We will be open during grade-level lunches March 11-15, and the evening of March 12th during choir concerts. CLICK HERE.
  • PTO is also looking for volunteers to help copy and cut Eagle cash for teachers and staff. Please CLICK HERE to sign up.

MUSIC NEWS!

  • Congratulations to all ZWest Band, Choir, and Orchestra students who participated in Solo & Ensemble events over the past 2 weeks. All in all, 156 ZWest students earned either gold or silver ratings for their performances.
  • In addition, 6 students (Nathan Goodpaster, Elsa Johnson, Nethra Balamurali, Olivia Powell, Tammy Zheng, & Grace Zhou) also qualified to perform at the State level as well. Way to go ZWest music students!
  • Congrats also to Choir students Lenima Hall, Sadie Palmer, Shreya Tapadar, & Grace Zhou, and Band student Samia Yisau for their participation in IMEA All State Honor Choir and Honor Band. These five students were selected from state-wide auditions to perform at the IMEA convention in Fort Wayne last month. They got to work and perform with other skilled music students from around the state and with amazing guest conductors while concluding with 2 incredible concerts. Congrats to all 5 of these students for their hard work and preparation!

8th Grade Girls!

  • The callout meeting for the 2024-2025 ZCHS Dance Team will be held on February 26 at the high school in room W409.
  • Meetings will be at 4:15pm and 5:30pm; come to whichever meeting is best for your schedule.
