- Happy Monday! The Matias De Llano Charitable Trust, administered by the International Bank of Commerce (IBC Bank), has donated $100,000 to Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) as part of the Trust’s continuing mission of doing more for Laredo.
- We welcome a total of 37 new faculty members, who have started teaching at TAMIU this Fall semester, keeping up with the University's dynamic enrollment increase.
- TAMIU's Alumni Association kicked off the Fall semester by awarding 18 well-deserved scholarships to currently enrolled Dustdevils distributed during a recent Alumni meeting.
- Dustdevils, get ready for a delightful arts season this Fall! TAMIU will kick off its Fall 2024 performance schedule with its annual Faculty Opening Concert Friday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall (CFPA). Admission is free and open to the public.
- The Laredo Center for the Arts (LC4A), in collaboration with Cliffe Killam, is proud to announce a special exhibit, "The Quest to Dream: A Rare Collection of the First Printed Don Quixote Illustrations." The exhibit is currently on display at the LC4A until Wednesday, October 9.
- International taxes and the evolution of multinational enterprises are the topics of discussion during the upcoming IBC Bank & Commerce Bank 2024–2025 Keynote Speaker Series. Dr. Lorraine Eden, Professor Emerita of Management and Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas A&M University, will present her lecture, "Taxing Multinationals: Hic Sunt Dracones (Turbulent Times Ahead)!" on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) Student Center Ballroom. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free of charge and open to the public.
- Longtime Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) professor of Public Administration and author Dr. Mehnaaz Momen has been selected as a finalist in the “Best Academic Themed Book, College Level – English Category by the International Latino Book Awards for her book, Listening to Laredo: A Border City in a Globalized Age, The University of Arizona Press. Congratulations, Dr. Momen!

TAMIU Welcomes 37 New Faculty Members
Keeping pace with dynamic enrollment growth this Fall semester at TAMIU, 37 new faculty members have taken their place in TAMIU classrooms.

TAMIU Alumni Association Awards 18 Student Scholarships
TAMIU's Alumni Association kicked off the Fall semester by awarding 18 well-deserved scholarships to currently enrolled Dustdevils.
In attendance to receive the TAMIU Alumni Association Endowed Scholarships were: Alberto Aleman, Theresa Espino, Anette Garza, Anakaren González Villarreal, Yulissa Leal, Sarah Martínez, and Laura Mitchell.
Additional scholarship recipients included Hania De La Fuente, Oscar Feschuk, Candela González Domingo, Carolina Mendez Gracida, Analy Delgado Maldonado, Alicia Mathewson, Ximena Rios, Ashley Ramírez Sánchez, Stone Strongin, and Abigail Villanueva.
