Brighter Futures
Recognizing the importance of education, Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) has prioritized supporting local schools and empowering students to reach new heights. Through career days and school visits, CGEMC provides valuable insights and guidance to young students, encouraging them to dream big and explore a world of possibilities.
With an exceptional member-supported program called Operation Round Up, our Central Georgia EMC Foundation can also give back to our communities. Operation Round Up, made possible by collecting change from participating members' electric bills and pooling the funds to award grants, serves as a beacon of hope to those in need.
The positive impact of Operation Round Up is evident on the faces of students who receive opportunities they might not have experienced otherwise. Whether the grant is used to purchase film making equipment for a school's media program or sponsor a Special Olympics event, students are inspired and passionate about learning. These inspired students create a domino effect by encouraging their peers to believe in the power of education.
As we look toward the future, CGEMC will continue to embrace and actively participate in our community. The success stories resulting from Operation Round Up serve as a testament to the incredible impact a united community can have on an entire generation. Investing in education through Operation Round Up can enrich our schools and help our communities thrive, creating a brighter tomorrow for all.

Co-op Kids
Cubihatcha Kids
Central Georgia EMC (CGEMC) participated in Cubihatcha Kids! Every fall, more than 3,000 local 3rd-grade Henry County Public Schools students visit Cubihatcha Outdoor Education Center. Their visits are made possible by the hard work of the Henry County Water Authority, the Henry County Board of Education, and many other local and regional sponsors.
While on-site, the 3rd graders spent the day exploring topics like the ecology of watersheds, water characteristics, reservoirs' role, and the wildlife that populate the area. CGEMC presented a hands-on friction lesson.
In August, the CGEMC Foundation Board granted $11,580 to charitable organizations in our territory. The funds will be used to support programs and initiatives in the communities served by CGEMC.
- The Get Ahead House: $1,500
- Gordon State College Foundation: $1,500
- Jackson High School Girls Basketball: $1,580
- Henry County Outdoor Education Partnership: $4,000
- Red Cross of Northeast Georgia: $500
Qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations in our service territory are invited to submit an application to the Central Georgia EMC Foundation.
Through Operation Round Up, our members support local organizations with a mission to make our communities even better places to live, work, and dream big. By simply rounding up your monthly electric bill to the next dollar, you can join in! Our pennies add up to make BIG CHANGE!
