COMMUNITY OPEN NIGHT

JUNIOR RANGERS PROGRAM

The Junior Rangers Program is back for 2026, continuing its strong partnership with the Tweed Byron Local Aboriginal Land Council. As part of the program, students visited the Minjungbal Aboriginal Cultural Centre & Museum for a cultural tour with Aunty Lorraine and Tora. Aunty Lorraine shared personal stories about growing up in the local area and explained the deep cultural significance of the site where the Museum and Cultural Centre now stands. During the visit, students toured the area where the new walkway will be built and learned about bush tucker, the bora ring, and its importance in traditional ceremonies. Many students made meaningful connections with Elders through historical photographs displayed in the Museum. Students had the opportunity to install the bird nesting boxes they had made. With the guidance of TBLALC Rangers Tom, Jye, and Tom. They learned about the importance of different tree species and which native birds are attracted to particular habitats. Students carefully selected suitable trees to ensure the nesting boxes would provide safe and supportive homes for local birdlife. The 2026 Junior Rangers Program provides rich cultural learning experiences and hands-on environmental education, strengthening students’ connection to Country and community.

VALID

2025 Year 8 VALID Reports The 2025 Year 8 VALID student reports have been added to Year 9 student profiles on Sentral.
