The countdown begins to Finals...starting Tuesday, April 30 – Monday, May 6.

  • Spring 2024 Commencement Exercises are Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Sames Auto Arena.
  • On Saturday we were thrilled to once again present the culminating event in our Eighth Annual International Mariachi Festival, a performance by Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán. The evening also honored the partnership and support of A.A. Lic. Eduardo A. Garza Robles, customs broker, visionary businessman and philanthropist.
  • Today is Earth Day and I hope you’ll enjoy us for activities from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. including a look at Rhizome, green pledges (and prizes), and tasty solar smoothies. Let’s celebrate our amazing planet. Find out more.
  • The College of Arts and Sciences will present another in its Panel Discussion and Research Presentation Series Tuesday, April 23, from 3 - 5 p.m. at the Academic Innovation Center, room 126. Themed "Nonprofit Organizations and Local Communities" the panel will discuss the role nonprofit organizations play in our communities by providing essential services, care, and support to those in need.   • The next in our series of free FAFSA Drives, “FAFSA For U,” to help students navigate the new application, is tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23. Subsequent sessions continue through June.
  • Are you an aspiring educator? Don’t forget our TAMIU School Districts Career Fair on Wednesday, April 24 from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Student Center Rotunda. More information is here.
  • Thanks to all of you who joined us last Thursday to celebrate our historic Spring 2024 Enrollment. We had a ‘ducky’ good time and enjoyed the good news with you. Here’s a fun video of the event.
  • The future at TAMIU is getting brighter every day. We’re forging ahead with two new degree programs in clinical lab sciences and physical therapy, with a special offer for students forming the first cohorts. Here are details.
  • The TAMIU Office of Continuing Education will present the Texas Certified Public Manager Program this Fall. TAMIU created this CPM program with Texas State University. It’s focused on training public and nonprofit managers in the ethical values and technical competencies associated with outstanding public service. You can find out more here.

Earth Day 2024 Celebrations at TAMIU Planned

Release the Quacken! Duck-Themed Celebration at TAMIU Held, Celebrates Historic Enrollment Milestone

There’s no ducking the numbers… we made history this Spring 2024 with a historic enrollment – the largest EVER in the history of Texas A&M International University. Students set a historic record for the highest Spring Enrollment in the University’s history: 7,940 students, a 5.57% increase in headcount and a similar 5.57% increase in Semester Credit Hours. To celebate, we hosted a duck-themed celebration, releasing hundreds of ducks into the Acequia Fountain, symbolizing the thousands of TAMIU students, and the ties that bind the University community.

Ground Now Broken for New HSERC, TAMIU Forges Ahead with New Programs, Free Tuition for First Student Cohorts

Although ground was broken for TAMIU's $71.2 million Health Sciences Education and Research Center (HSERC) a scant two weeks ago, TAMIU is forging ahead with two new programs...and offering free tuition to the first student cohorts to form. The new face-to-face programs in clinical lab sciences and physical therapy are the result of a generous $6 million in non-formula items provided by the 88th Legislature.

TAMIU continues to host a series of free FAFSA Drives to help students navigate the new application.

TAMIU CFPA Events Happening this April

This April, several live music and dance performances are currently scheduled at TAMIU's Center for the Fine and Performing Arts. All events are free and open to the public. Donations are gladly accepted at the door to support scholarships for Fine and Performing Arts students.

TAMIU School Districts Career Fair Scheduled for April 24

Aspiring educators are invited to attend the Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) School Districts Career Fair on Wednesday, April 24, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Student Center Rotunda.

TAMIU students, alumni and the public are encouraged to attend.

TAMIU Athletics Update

TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
